I know it sounds like Coraline but its not.

I think the girls name is caroline or something? Not really sure. I also am pretty sure it has a greenish blue cover?

I read it four years ago I think, pretty sure its fairly modern, maybe 2015?

More on the plot- i believe theres some other people there, maybe a girl named Caroline or something? Theres also like this foggy lake thing and i think theres peoples souls or bodies or something? Eventually he is able to leave and everyone says the house doesnt exist.

My friend and i are both looking for this book but neither of us can remember what it was called! Its a thriller but kid friendly.
