I read this book in either 2018 or 2019, it could have been released earlier but not before 2007 I don't think.

I don't know any names but I know that the main character's family is poor. they are assigned this underground bunker (because the people who can't afford spaceships need some way to survive the meteor crash) and then they are left to fend for themselves. the main character is separated from her mother and elder sister and is found by some people and is taken to a spacecraft JUST for the duration of the crash but she becomes the assistant for someone who's important on the spaceship [she might have other abilities not entirely sure].

also, there's a subplot about something about missing blue barrels.

She's offered a place on the ship but when she finds her mom and sister they aren't allowed on the ship. I think in the end she leaves them behind and goes on the ship or she might have stayed with them instead of leaving but I'm not sure. another really random thing- just before the crash (like a couple of weeks or something) they had a party and she just enjoyed it instead of being her usual self.

Few notes:
sister is elder
mom might be a drug addict
no one knows about the spacecraft that takes people in based on talents because everyone will want to come and there's a big waiting list of family members and staff.
