Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

It's always hard choosing favorites, particularly between the two protagonists, so I'm going to cheat and choose from the secondary characters. I would say that my favorite character is Cilla. She's spoiled but sweet, well-intentioned but clueless, tough but scared, and traumatized but idealistic. I truly enjoyed figuring out what someone in her situation might be like.

On the other hand, Nolan's sister Pat was the most straight-up fun to write. The book can get pretty gloomy, and I think it really needed someone like Pat as a down-to-earth voice and source of humor. She's also one of the only characters in the book who developed entirely on the page rather than as a result of brainstorming beforehand. In chapter three, someone I never accounted for knocked on the bathroom door, and she grew from there.(less)

The publication date got moved from summer/fall 2019 to spring 2020.

As disappointing as that may seem, it's only because we want the best for this book. It needed more time to become what we want it to become.

I can't wait to share this novel with you

"Holy pants, what a fabulous book. I can't actually think of a way to describe it without spoiling it in some manner, but a damn fine read, and easily my favorite book on the year."
