Review: I really love this series. I'm a big sci-fi fan and the characters, world are right up my alley. This one takes place where the second one leaves and it was riveting. I also admit it - I cried quite a bit in this one. Can't wait to read the next one and see what happens with the team and the aliens.

Review: I started this book having no idea what to expect, and I had no idea what to expect right up until the last page. I don't mean in any way, however, that I had trouble knowing what was going on. It's not that the plot had a lot of twists per se, more like it was just crafted to be unpredictable in a finished sort of way. Even from central parts in the book, you can tell that most of the book is some sort of memory of the past, so it seems final in a way that keeps you guessing, if that makes any sense.

Review: This was a sweet, charming story. About a young woman who doesn’t remember much. And how she is taken in by a small community. The story isn’t very scary or exciting. And we don’t learn much about Kiera in book 1. So it was a little too slow for me. I’m on the fence whether I will continue with this series.

Review: I don't read a lot of cozy mysteries but this series is cute. The time that passes between books is very short so even though this is the 4th book our MCs haven't known each other that long so the relationship is a slow burn. The mystery in this one was good and I'm really glad that Ellery didn't go off on his own this time but got dragged into the mystery and was honest with Jack.

The story was filled moments that were heartwrenching, riveting,, and were moments you felt would break your heart and, lets not forget about the new characters that were easy to love and admire

Silk Room BY Lynn Hagen
(Brac Pack Next Gen #8)
177P
READ: 4/1
REVIEW:
I always meant to start this series years ago. Lynn Hagen is my most read author with 70+ books over the span of 10 years. Like most other series by them, I start with a random book in the series and never book 1. I went into slight book funk and try to re-discover my old faves. This is funny and annoying in the way I remember and I miss these mindless entertaining stories. (3 stars)

Review: This was an okay start to a YA fairytale series. I definitely enjoyed Caraval more. Jacks (Prince of Hearts) really was way too unlikeable. So as a hero, he wasn’t very good. But there were some surprises and exciting parts. That’s what kept me reading to the end.

Review
I landed on okay because it was just that. It followed the beats of taboo romance. The sudden awareness of desires, the resistance, the euphoria of giving in, and the stress of being revealed to the whole world. I didn't expect them to be shunned by family and friends, but it was very anti-climatic when Luca and Bran told their relationship. They end up on the other side with no inevitable ramifications for their decision to be together.
Overall it was good, but I'm not a fan of trauma being healed by the power of love. However, it was soli enough that I will be reading the next book.

Book: Hot Seat by Eli Easton
Pages: 274
Date Read: 4/2
Rating: 3.5 Stars
Review: So I don't know quite how to rate this. As a romance 3 star's at best - as a coming out story it's a 4 to 4.5 star read. To me this felt like Mike's coming out story and not really a story of Mike and Shane's romance. Honestly, his feelings for Shane drove his coming out story but there wasn't much romance in this book. Mike doesn't treat Shane very well in several instances in this book and while I can understand where he is coming from given his family and background it didn't help the romance. Mike never really did much to redeem himself and Shane just kept forgiving him and letting it happen again. I also didn't really buy Mike's mom making Shane such an instant part of the family given that her husband had such issues with it. The relationship between Shane and Mike's mom felt fake and it gave a "Mary Calmes Jory" vibe to me. So even though I thought Shane deserved better I felt for Mike and understood his plight and understandable fear of losing his family. Not what I expected but it was an emotional coming out story that I liked reading.

Review: This is probably the first Amazon First Reads book I've actually read after getting it, and definitely the first one I read this close to the publication date. It's also the first adult nonfiction I've read all the way through this year, and the first climate change nonfiction I've read that feels completely genuine. Diana Marcum has a talent for making settings come alive. There is so much magic surrounding the butterflies and her world in general.

The author gave me what i wanted with Jordan and Katie. There was so much in the storyline that i loved such as: acttion, so mant twist and turns, pacing was nice and fact, and tne supence is in a high octane level. The chemistry was sweet and hotand the sexual tension was the best. I enjoyed their ups a d downs and how they got their HEA

I'm a sucker for this kind of taboo. I just wish I like it more. Unfortunately, I lost interest in the couple's story once they got together. I think it was consistently being reminded of relations to each other. This is the first time I might read the first book in the series because I tend to like the 1 st book, and I am usually lukewarm on the rest of the series when it comes to this author's books.
