They did it to quite a few special needs students especially those who were adhd or on the autistic spectrum. The good news is that they were taken to court and they were fired. Personally I wanted to do a smack down in the parking lot with her, but decided I didn't need any more visits.

Michelle | 1615 comments My book finally came in at the library and I started it last night. I'm not sure if I will get it done by Thursday, but will have it done by Friday check in. I had to get a paper copy because it was one of those books that was available on scribd for months and then when I go to download it, it's disappeared off the site. Same with overdrive. I don't know what it is with Seanan McGuire and Rachel Caine books that make them disappear off those two sites.

I had also planned on going to bed early and reading, but the weather changed rapidly and I got a migraine. If the words were a little bigger I would be ok, but its a paperback with small lettering.

Review
Meh. Hannah was much more palatable in the first book. This was a quick, easy read. Mystery but the solving of it was questionably sold for me.

After the initial shocking event, it was a bit slow moving and boring.

I love all of the recipes and the tips about them at the end of the chapters.

I went from thinking: Please make Hannah less dense. How does nothing ever occur to her and the other characters have to come up with all of the clues and ideas. It doesn't sell her for me.

To the end of the book feeling like I liked that Hannah was confident, but taking credit for pretty much everything was really annoying.

It's not the greatest book I ever read, but it is enjoyable enough that I will continue the series and pick up Book 3 at some point.

3 Stars.

Review:
I loved Psycho the movie and Psycho #1, but unfortunately not so much Psycho #2. I still love Norman Bates and I still believe this is the original true horror story ever written that still makes me shiver when I think about it.

In this book Norman has been in a state hospital for the criminally insane for 20 years. It was creepy that he used a nun's habit to escape and begin murdering again. The plot just didn't have the punch for me that book #1 did so I was rather disappointed. I was expecting more but at least there was a twist at the end that I wasn't expecting

Review:
This book is a selection of three shorter stories that take place in the "20's" of the In Death Series. They had a common theme of something potentially supernatural or just plain weird about the murders.

Eternity in Death - a woman looking for immortality is instead left dead, devoid of blood, with two puncture marks in her neck. This leads Eve to an underground vampire nightclub and a sociopath. There wasn't ever really a doubt in this book about who did it - the crime was just hard to prove.

Ritual in Death A naked, bloody man stumbles into a party attended by Eve and Roarke. They find a ritualistic killing and investigate a Satanic cult. Eve and Roarke are angrier than I'm used to seeing them, at each other and the world in this. But really, it was a nasty situation - I guess the anger was justified.

Missing in Death A woman disappears from a ferry, and there is a bloody crime scene with no body, and no good way to explain where it went. This one was my favorite of the three. I especially liked how it ended.

Another thing I enjoyed about these is how Peabody got totally into each of the supernatural explanations - buying garlic, worrying about witches, satan worshipers, and aliens. It was fun seeing that contrast to Eve and her pragmatic approach.

Review:
It's been a long time since I've read such a high octane and emotional book that wasn't overtly romance. While this book is set amidst 2 romance series, the plot was primarily about fighting the fire threatening the town and the rescue of trapped people. It was highly engaging, emotional and a very satisfying read! I got to visit couples from the I-Team series that I love and get a sneak peak at the Colorado series that I'm just beginning. The author did a great job blending the two without giving too much away!

Review - I really love the Incryptid series by Seanan McGuire, but I'm a huge dork that loves anything to do with cryptozoology. The possibility that there are creatures in this world that no one really knows anything about is fascinating.

In the 2nd book of the series, Verity Price is a cryptozoologist/Dancer. That sounds like a really weird combo, but she comes from a family of those that have been cryptozoologist for generations. She is also a dancer that really wants to make it big. However that has had to take a backseat because the city of New York has had some recent issues in regards to a group of people called The Covenant who has arrived in town and their only job is to purge the city of every single cryptid. Sadly, Verity's boyfriend, Dominic, just happens to be a member of the covenant who is torn between his duty and his heart.
The world building in this series is one of the best I have ever encountered and it's not hard to place myself in Verity's shoes. You can see how much she cares for the creatures in her world and the sacrifices she will go to to make sure they are safe. It's kind of sad that she has had to put her love of dancing on the back burner for now. I can't wait to see what's in store for her in the future.

Review:
I'm glad to have finally finished this series. I bought the book in 2015, so, it's about time I read it! This isn't my favorite genre (young adult), but at least it didn't have a love triangle!

Penryn and Raffe escaped the angels in Uriel's sanctuary and are on the run. They need to get Raffe and Paige (Penryn's sister) to a doctor, need to stop the evil angels from killing all humans, and need to resist their love since it is forbidden.

I thought the take on Angels and Demons was pretty original. I thought some of the scenes/plans that Penryn came up with were...odd? And it was kind of hard for me to believe that hundreds of people would let a 17-year-old girl lead them. BUT, it was entertaining and I think the author did a good job. 3.5 stars rounded up for the talent show (which I thought was a stupid idea but ended up being really touching), and the ending.

Boiling Point (Crossing the Line, #3) by Tessa Bailey
Book: Boiling Point
How it fits: #3 Crossing the Line
Date Read: 02.24 ★★★★
Review:
Not to give into the pun, but as this is the 3rd book in the series, we have seen the chemistry between these 2 characters boiling for a while now. It was nice to see the pay-off. As usual with this series, the male was off the charts possessive but he didn't come across as an alphahole. He simply felt so deeply for Polly he wasn't always sure how to deal with it. The suspense story line wasn't very deep and the solution rather easy - it played out as a vehicle for the erotic story. Which works for me as I wasn't in the mood for a dark storyline but I can see where others might think it was all too easy. In the end, even though they were deeply flawed characters, they were rather easily redeemed. Worked for me but some probably would again say too easy.

Five Years later and still a series that I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! The Gards and the Ponies are my favorites, but I love the further involvement and development of the humans in the story and a bit of an insight into Nathan.

Anne Bishop has done a phenomenal job creating a world I love to get lost in, even if Namid's teeth and claws are a bit scary to fathom.

I can't wait to move on, but I already don't want this series to end again. and I still hate Nick Scratch.

A great quote:

Review - In book 3 of the Incryptid Series we get to read bout another one of the Price children, Alex. Alex is currently working at the Columbus Zoo in Ohio and living with his grandparents and helping take care of his cousin Sarah who was mentally broken in book 2. Alex is more scientist than the rest of his siblings and his current project is working on a basilisk breeding program while in charge of the reptile house.

Strange things begin to happen and of course dead bodies begin to pile up. Alex, along with his new girlfriend, Shelby Tanner work to solve what is going on and who is killing and why.

I like Alex, he's nerdy and he gets to work hands on with the more reptilian cryptid population. I'm not a super fan of his girlfriend, visiting scientist from Australia, Shelby Tanner. She was a bit rude to his grandparents when she first met them. That was not ok in my book. However, she and Alex work well together after they finally learn that they both have the same goals in mind. Shelby is part of a group from Australia called the Thirty Six Society, who do what the Price Family does only in Australia.

These novels are quite fun to read since I find cryptozoology so fascinating. I never realized how many different cryptids there are. The next book will be with Alex and Shelby as well and will take place in Australia where there will be a bunch of new cryptids that are specific to the continent.
