Ian Carson (ianmcarson) | 1 comments Hi,

I am new to Goodreads with my author account just activated today. Any suggestions to get started on here?

My first book went live last week on Amazon. "The 1st Week" is a Christian children's book about the days of creations. It has started off pretty well for my first book, so I pray it continues to touch lives.

Thank you for your help.

Ian

Caitlin Nikolai (caitlinnikolaiauthor) | 9 comments Welcome to Goodreads! And congratulations on getting your first book out there. I'll have to look into it for my children.

In regards to advice, I'm also a new... okay, new-ish... author and am still learning to, but as with any other social media platform, don't be afraid to reach out in groups, on book discussion posts, reviewing books, etc. The more people who see your name, the more people will be comfortable buying your book.

God bless your writing journey!

Lily (starlightmoonlight) | 137 comments Hello! Welcome to Goodreads!

Hmm, some tips? I've been on GR for awhile now, so if you have any questions about anything, I'd love to help you out! I would definitely recommend you writing a bio for yourself here on GR (you can use the one on your book if you've got one), and also linking your website up. Social media, including GR, is super important for authors to be able to connect with other authors as well as with readers.

God bless!
