I Can See You by Damien Graves. The ring story is the third story in the book, and is called 'True Colours'.

Glad I could help! The series comes up every now and then so I thought it was worth checking if one had a story about a ring, and I was in luck. The mods should be able to move this into the solved folder for you!

Plot: It is about a girl who comes across a ring and when she puts the ring on it controls her emotions. For example, if she is happy the ring could make her really angry. Eventually she tries to take off the ring realizing what it is doing to her but is unable to. The biggest part of the short story that I remember is the ending: she ends up having to go to a funeral, the ring still on her finger, and while everybody is crying and sad the ring makes her burst out laughing.
Reading Level: Middle School, around ages 10 to 14?
Genre: Horror
Unfortunately I do not even remember what the cover looks like I simply just remember the one short story from the book. Additionally, I did try to research it online but it only brought up results of the movie The Ring film.
