Seth took out his dagger again and looked around, "I think someone followed us--" "who?" asked Veraly, standing up and quickly lifting up her cane to use as a weapon, she wasn't sure she could get her powers to work again at will to fight whatever was coming.
"I don't know." said Seth. "But I think they want something from us..."
"Hey." said Seth, "at least be polite around someone who actually helped you, another Seth, that's just rude...." The foot-steps grew louder and louder and suddenly an arrow flew through the arrow hitting the wall behind them.
"We should run!" said Seth.
Seth groaned, "what is wrong with you?" he headed through bringing Veraly who he was worried would get lost, or would get hit by the incoming arrows. "I mean fine, you saved my life and Veraly's life, but you are a little bit explosive and fire happy, just saying..." They soon made it through the dungeon, but found themselves getting more and more lost in it, it was like a labyrinth.
Seth stuck out his tongue at Ember, "Yeah, alright fine, sure you saved us, but not without insulting me . Which you had no right to do." He rolled his eyes, "If you really wanted me to trust you-- after you set me on fire, which you keep saying it wasn't a big deal which it was , you should not go around insulting me." Veraly perked up for a moment at the word "Phoenix" and then realized they were talking about the bird not her adpoted brother...
"Where are we?" she asked, moving her cane around the floor and trying to figure out where exactly they were. Suddenly screams echoed through the halls, but then stopped abruptly.
Seth looked around, "I believe whoever owns this castle keeps prisoners here, which would not be surprising..." He took out his daggers and pointed them around the area, "I am willing to believe that they may torture them-- How they didn't notice us...I don't know, but something is up with this place." Veraly comforted the triplets as they walked along the way, she tried to keep herself from freaking out. But she had to be strong, so she held their hands and squeezed them from keeping them from being afraid, as another scream echoed through the maze.
"Would it be possible?" asked Seth, jokingly, "for you to bust out another wall so we can get out of this place?" He paused realizing how scared they were, "of course whenever you want to." Seth was slightly scared, but not that much, he had seen worse...Much worse.
"That's bad." said Seth, and then looked around the labyrinth. "Perhaps there is something we can do to figure out where we are..." "Didn't you say you were a shapeshifter?" injected Veraly.
"Uh yes.." he said, curling a piece of his black hair around his finger.
"Can't you shapeshift into an animal and look around?" she asked.
"Maybe?" he said, "what animal...do you think we need?"
Seth nodded, "alright, it will just take a second." And by a second he meant minute, he closed his eyes, and feathers grew and eventually he changed into an eagle. As an eagle then he flew up to see what was going on, he flew around the labyrinth, and then noticed something-- something was there in the shadows, it wasn't human...It seemed almost like a monster he looked at it closer and saw that it was half human half bull...And it looked very dangerous.
He then flew back and transformed back into a human, "There's a monster in the maze!" he exclaimed.
"It's not painful to shapeshift, and...the monster was half human half bull, I am not sure what to call it, the upper half was a bull and the lower half was a human." replied Seth. Veraly thought for a little bit, what was that? She had never heard of that type of creature before.
"No" said Seth, "But I assume it was the Minotaur's lunch..." He looked around, "...As that seems to be the most logical explanation."
"Uhh...Half cannibalism? I mean for it to eat beef, it would be eating...ugh." He groaned, "Alright, let's not think about that-- that's too disgusting." "But wouldn't it be cannibalism for it to eat a human?" Veraly interjected. "I mean it is half human."
"Alright, let's not talk about this!" exclaimed Seth, shaking his head and feeling overwhelmed, Veraly was overwhelmed and admittedly a bit scared though she did not show it. She didn't think she would end up here...And with a monster.
"The important thing is, before we do anything we need to do it with intention and thought, we can't just go running in and attack." He said, glancing over at the triplets.
"Yes, and I think the more mature members of the group should be the ones to do so. You can give input of course, but you shouldn't be the one leading it." said Seth, who admittedly (and perhaps rightly) still had a grudge against the triplets for lighting him on fire, he was not over it he wasn't going to get over it anytime soon. "I suggest, since you're so powerful though, I think that if the beast, were to attack us that you should light it on fire, turn it into a rabbit, or whatever else you have in mind."
Veraly nodded, that would work, she wasn't sure what she could do exactly. She doubted making the beast wet would help, though perhaps it could distract it.
"And...I am sure I could do something with my magic as well." replied Veraly, "maybe, though I am not sure what..."
"I...don't trust you enough to hand you rope." replied Seth, crossing his arms, he thought for a moment and then said finally "but tell me what your plan is before I hand it to you, in case, you have anything horrible in mind..." "I doubt they're going to murder you, Seth." replied Veraly, exasperated, she didn't particularly like the triplets either, they felt entitled...But she didn't think they were as horrible as Seth thought they were. And plus they were the only people who she could ask for help from at the moment, besides Seth...
"Umm...they lit me on fire, I do think they could murder me if they wanted to." replied Seth.
"Yeah, I don't believe you." said Seth, "Just tell me what you intend to do, before you do anything harmful . And in case you're wondering, I am not going to hand you something that could lead to your...death or demise." "Maybe we should do something instead playing games" interjected Veraly, "I don't know how much your life matters to you, but I don't want to waste it playing stupid games until the monster gets us!"
"The minotaur could be attack you, and besides that sounds like the dumbest and most immature plan that I have ever heard-- The minotaur is larger than you for one, and second, I don't think it will be standing still as you dance around it." replied Seth, "that would work if it wasn't moving, but it could be moving." "Seth, please be less hard on them." replied Veraly, "they're only children."
"Children with the power of a whole army, who could kill you if they wanted to." replied Seth.
"Alright fine...Test it out" groaned Seth, who at this point was very very annoyed at the triplets, "but be careful." He added. As he walked over to where Veraly was standing and glanced over at her, thinking that the triplets were going rogue and weren't going to do anything with the adults around them. "Just be careful that you don't get lost." added Veraly.
(Question: Did they make it to where the Minotaur was? Because if they did, they must be really fast because the maze is very large and complicated and not something you can solve easily). Veraly paused for a moment and headed to see what was going on, she rather disliked that the triplets had decided go off on their own and were putting themselves in more danger...She just hoped that they were alright.
"Is everything alright?" she asked, "Did you defeat the monster?"
"How...?" asked Seth, surprised that such a challenge could be solved just by a game...A game, a children's game to be exact. "How did you do that? I thought..." He had thought that it would be harder...But everything seemed easy for them.
Veraly also found herself wondering how that had worked, perhaps she was just weak compared to them...But she hated to admit that she felt strange being uninvolved in any of their plans...
And that they, just them, had defeated the monster...
But that was a desire, and that desire would get in her way if she kept focusing on it...
"Yes, and I have that too" replied Seth, "you're not unique in having an imagination, I was just wondering how you defeated a monster that is very hard to defeat without injuring yourself whatsoever! Even the greatest heroes can be injured in battle." Veraly bit her lip and tried to refrain from insulting them, they were rude...Every time she tried to like them, they did something that made her mad at them again. She hated this. They were entitled little girls who she wanted to punch in the face, but she was not going to do that...She was an adult and punching a child was a terrible idea, and also not kind.
"Perhaps you can be kinder " replied Veraly, tired of putting up with them. "And maybe involve us in your plan next time..."
"I don't trust you because you lit me on fire !! How can I trust someone like that!!??" exclaimed Seth, "Really how can I?" "I..." muttered Veraly, "the only reason I don't trust you is because you acted selfish and left me alone in an unknown place when I couldn't see and I didn't know where I was!"
She felt herself growing more and more angry at them, why didn't they understand? What was wrong with them? Why were they such entitled little girls?? She listened as an argument broke out between the triplets and decided not to say anything else...Even though she was very angry.
Seth gasped, "what the..." He grabbed Veraly's hands and beckoned for the remaining triplets to come. "Come, before whatever is...there gets us." He closed his eyes, almost instinctively and had Veraly guide him throughout the maze with her cane, he was not sure why he had done that but it seemed to work... "Did she die?"
"No...She turned to stone." replied Seth.
"I don't think that is better..."
"It isn't...But we can undo it...hopefully."
They kept walking, Seth with his eyes closed and Veraly with her eyes open. Guiding Seth through the maze.
(Oh no!)
Veraly continued walking with Seth, until it seemed that they were far away. Seth did not open his eyes, but doubted he could keep them closed even longer. So, he grabbed some fabric from out of his pocket and tied it around his head making a blindfold. He was safe now and so was Veraly, as they continued walking down the hall. Veraly hoped that the other triplets were safe.
The basilisk found its jaws jammed open with a small dagger that Seth had jammed into its jaws. Seth was surprised that he had done that but he had thrown his dagger directly at the slithering at the slithering sound been coming up behind them. And moved both him and Veraly quicker once again through the maze, so this beast did not follow. Veraly caused a small annoying cloud to hang over the creature, it hung over it and thundered and soaked the creature. Hopefully it would confuse or annoy it enough to allow them to have more time to run...
Veraly and Seth paused for a moment in their running, when they heard the slithering go in a different direction. They both hugged onto each other, embracing each other to make sure they were both there and were relieved that they were both safe...Both safe, at least for now. Seth did not dare to take his blindfold off, but even though he still had it on he tightly closed his eyes. Veraly held tightly onto Seth, she wished they had not headed into this maze...She wished she was home...with Phoenix.
Veraly and Seth walked along the hallway again after embracing each other in a tight hug, they both held onto each other's hands tightly and even though Veraly didn't need it, Seth tied a blind fold around her head too-- just to be on the safe side. "That was frightening." exhaled Seth.
"Indeed." nodded Veraly, "I hope...the other two are safe."
"I..." muttered Seth, "don't know if they are..."

Veraly and Seth exhaled, the creature did not seem to be coming any closer, Seth took off both their blind folds giving them a chance to at least relax until whatever it was came again. "...I didn't want Amber, I think that was her name...To be turned into stone, I just, I just...Am so frustrated that they--" he paused again, "--They feel like their actions don't have consequences."
"I didn't want that either." exhaled Veraly. "How...do we even turn her back?"
"I don't know" exhaled Seth, not daring to look back behind him, and wondering where the slithering sound was now.
"Maybe" said Veraly, hopefully, "they defeated the monster."
Seth shook his head, "I highly doubt it." Though in all honesty he was annoyed that the triplets kept putting themselves in the spotlight, they always acted like they were the main characters...ugh.
"No I think they could." replied Veraly, tugging on a piece of her black hair, she tried to calm down she hated that she was not acting like herself. Usually she was the older sister, usually...she was calm and collected but not today.
Just then a roar, not of the basilisk, but another creature came from the maze. No, it was not one roar, it was many...And it seemed to be around the corner from Veraly and Seth.
A hydra emerged out of the shadows...
Seth took out a second dagger and began fighting the hydra, he cut of one of it's heads-- but two grew back. "Uhh..." Seth looked around, "we need to find a way to stop them from growing back!"
"I have an idea!" shouted Veraly, Seth cut off one of it's heads and Veraly found a stick and threw it into where the head had been, stopping it at least for now.
Seth continued but it was getting harder...
Seth and Veraly continued what they were doing, until they felt as if it wasn't working just then Veraly (accidentally) caused a giant cloud to rain over the hydra. It was raining, but also there was lightning which lit the sticks they had put into it on fire, making it impossible for it to grow back. The hydra collapsed on the ground...dead.
Seth looked over at Veraly, smiling at her.

"She..." began Veraly, trying to find a way to phrase it well, she wasn't dead-- and she didn't want them to think she was. But, she was trapped, trapped in the form of statue until someone freed. "Got turned to stone." she said, finally.
Seth looked over in the direction of the hydra he and Veraly had just killed, and wondered partly if it was his fault that she had been turned to stone. If they had not gotten her to apologize she would still...be there. He looked back at them, "we also defeated a monster." He said pointing at the dead hydra.
Seth nodded and leaded the twins to where the now statue of Amber stood. Seth though a spy, did not do a good job of how guilty he was feeling about this. If they hadn't been upset at her this would not have happened...
Seth watched as they did that, he was not sure what was happening but ideas were going through his head when it came to how to turn her back from being stone-- surely there was a way. Veraly, who was usually good at concealing her emotions was crying she couldn't control it, she just was...She was upset, even though she didn't like Amber all that much she felt...guilty.
(Sorry about taking so long to respond).
"You got turned to stone" said Veraly bluntly. "A monster...I forget it's name...turned you into stone." She looked around, how? How had they done that? How were the triplets so powerful? How did they get to be so powerful? It seemed everyone of their problems was easily solved by their powers...
Seth saw the sword lying off to the side of the room, it was strange that weapons of any kind would be lied down carelessly, not that he cared that much he preferred to only use weapons when he needed to. "Who's sword is that?" he asked suddenly, pointing to the sword that was lying on the ground.
"So it looked...at it's reflection? And turned to stone?" asked Seth, trying to get to the logic of it. "Is it a magical sword or something? Or a normal one?" He felt more confused than he had been before he asked the question. "And you just stumbled upon it?" added Veraly. "Who leaves powerful swords lying around?"
Veraly nodded, "maybe someone got turned to stone too, and dropped their sword." She shrugged, thinking of what they could do. "Oh and while you killed a monster, me and Veraly defeated one as well..." Seth replied, "It seemed like it would be impossible for us to defeat it, given how it's heads just grew back but we succeeded..."
"Oh that's what you call it? Yes, then we did defeat a hydra." replied Seth, putting his dagger away. Veraly nodded and moved around the room, trying to get familiar with her new surroundings. She had become a lot less nervous, but now, she just wanted to figure it out-- she doubted that the dangers were far from gone, but she would feel more comfortable if she at least knew the space well.
Veraly stopped moving, deciding that she did not want to take the risk, when she heard Amber and walked back towards the group...She wished she hadn't acted like all the danger had gone away..."Don't worry" replied Seth, "it will go away, but at least you know how I felt when I was lit on fire!"
"Seth, is right about that." she paused, "but if you need medical attention I can help..."
(I'm fine with that, they're your characters so do whatever you want with them. :) ) "That should have been common knowledge from the beginning..." replied Seth. He looked around wondering what other monsters were there in the maze...
"Let's move on and stay close together..." said Seth, eyeing the triplets "we don't know what is still in there.." He held Veraly's hand to guide her, so she didn't feel alone, and began walking down the passages hoping the triplets would follow behind and not light the whole place on fire.
Seth and Veraly became walking, and they kept thinking they had heard a voice, but it wasn't a human voice it sounded too snake-like to be a human voice...Coming down the hall.The closer they got the more statues appeared of people in a scared position of fear...Seth took out his dagger for safety and began looking into it at the statues and what was ahead.
(No medusa)Veraly and Seth kept walking, Seth looked into his sword and saw a figure standing in the shadows. She looked almost snake-like, and it seemed like there were snakes all around her...in her hair?
The figure in the shadows was moving closer, Seth did not take his eyes off his dagger which acted as a mirror as it came closer. Veraly couldn't see what it was, but could feel Seth's fear...
She heard the sound of foot-steps coming, it was not the sound of anyone she knew-- in fact it was too many for it to be one of them.
