"Hopefully we can all find a way to get home, but for now..." Veraly said, half to Asa half to the group "...Maybe we can work together?"

As Veraly listened, she heard a sound of foot-steps coming from one of the rooms of the castle. Who was it? Everyone was here, Asa, Ember, Amber and...everyone. She stood up and took out her cane-- she did not want to use it as a weapon, but if this person was hostile she would.
The stranger who had by now fixed his cloak (as best as he could-- it was badly singed), was staring at the sisters. Were they enemies of the people he was serving? Spies of sorts, perhaps? He wasn't sure, they had to be...He couldn't figure out another reason why would attack him.

"If I may ask, who do you work for?" He took out a knife which he had hidden in his pocket and directed it at them. "I want to know. Because I don't believe you setting me on fire over there..." he directed over the direction "was accidental. Are you trying to stop me from finding the sacred texts?"
Veraly walked over, she had tried to keep things from getting out of hand. But they weren't, she knew (but she knew the others didn't) that he was spy who was working for Ashalena's family. And had turned to her for assistance...In finding texts that had been stolen a few years ago. He turned to her, because her (adoptive) father was a monk of the religion where the texts came from.

The man did not put his knife away, not believing anything that they had said, he turned to Umber who seemed the most calm, while still pointing the knife at the others.
"Very sacred ones, they were stolen though, and the religious order is working to get them back." He looked over in the direction of Veraly, "I was hoping she could help me, but it turned out she had no information on it."

Veraly interrupted stopping him mid-sentence. "Um, what exactly are the darkest moments? In the prophecy."

"continue." said Veraly.

"I know that you raised the dead, Umber, but you also raised the dead who you killed...Which doesn't exactly put you in a good light." replied Veraly, wondering why Umber was bringing this up again, "surely you have used your powers in other circumstances right?"
"Also miss, if you believe in reincarnation killing people isn't exactly a good thing for it...Even if you are a goddess..excuse me, I mean you were a goddess." replied the man, "If anything next time you die, you will end up lower on the cycle...Perhaps as a worm or a snail...or worse."

Veraly had to admit she agreed more with the spy than with the triplets at this point, she found the triplets to be confusing, and maybe a bit immoral, though a bit was an understatement. Umber though a goddess, supposedly? Or used to be a goddess, she honestly wasn't sure kept telling people she had raised the dead, when the dead were people she had killed, when she was sure a former goddess would use her powers for to help others not to kill others.
"I admit, I agree with him." replied Veraly. "It is a bit insulting for you to do that, you know?"

Why they had left so abruptly and not apologized, Veraly didn't know. But she was done trying to see them as like her brother Phoenix when he was little. They were not him, they would never be him. Instead of chasing after them herself, a cloud overhead followed the triplets all of them. It was a dark cloud that rained heavily and thundered until their ears hurt, hopefully it would get them to turn around and apologize.
She at this point did not care about being friends with them anymore, trying to be an older sister to them as she would be with Phoenix. Instead she saw that they were little spoiled girls, who seemed to think only for themselves...
Veraly then shouted after the cloud had followed them, "Aren't you going to apologize for what you said?"

She didn't really want them to die, or get killed. They were very young you see...She headed down the hall to where the noise was coming from and the spy followed behind her.

"It's petty you know to fight helpless children." smirked the spy.
Veraly came then and sprayed the armored men with a wave of water in their faces, so as to confuse them and take their attention off to the triplets and on to her and the spy.

The spy nodded, "Yes it would." he exhaled, "It would also be great, if you we could talk about the parading around as an incarnation of a goddess issue, which you promptly seemed to ignore. Which could we please talk about now? Because you didn't seem to know why we thought that was insulting..."
Veraly paused and then added, "Also we are against you using your powers, we are fine with using them on people who are trying to kill you like those men..." She exhaled again that had been a lot of running, and the fight itself made her very tired, "...But on people who aren't, who actually are just minding their own business, please don't use your magic on them."

"That's good..." replied Veraly. "But you do realize, the thing we were trying to say before, was important...About saying you're an incarnation of a goddess while at the same time putting down the idea for reincarnation? Was insulting right?" She wasn't sure if the twins really understood why that was insulting, even though they had said they did as a group, she wanted to talk to them individually about it instead of a hive mind.
"It would be like saying..." she paused, she admittedly did not know much about these kinds of religions...But she would take a guess at least, "I'm an angel, but heaven and hell are fake. You would think that was insulting, wouldn't you?"

"So..." she said, "what now?"
"Yes, what now? Who were those men working for?" the spy asked, looking in the direction of the cursed men, and the one who now was a chicken. "And what do they want from you?"

"Is there anything I can do to help you get less wet?" asked Veraly, wondering if she could fix the mess she made.

"So, Veraly." said Seth, she turned her head in the direction of his voice.
"Yes?" she asked.
"I talked to your..." he paused, trying to find the word, "guardian, let's say guardian recently. And he is worried about us being able to find the artifact that was stolen." He paused and then looked over at Veraly again, "I am wondering if Balthazar's family had anything to do with it."
"Maybe." sighed Veraly, she did not like Balthazar, but she wasn't sure if everything bad had to be put on him. "But why would they steal then? Why? They had just made arrangements with Ashalena's family for Ashalena and Balthazar to be married. Wouldn't that ruin it?"
"Not if they were trying to put themselves in good light, by giving it back to them once the marriage happened." replied Seth.

Veraly nodded, "yes it would be very bad."
"And I hope Balthazar does not marry Ashalena, that would be terrible for our kingdom." said Seth.
"But it may be too late to do anything about it." sighed Veraly.

"Well, at least you know what he did to your brot--"
"Let's not discuss it here." said Veraly, biting her lip, trying to conceal her pain. "That was a step too far..." She tapped her fingers against the wall, "...Though really, I am not quite sure why he did it." She paused for a moment, giving herself time to breath, "But no one will believe us that Balthazar was the causer of that."

"if they were in our kingdom they would know, Veraly." said Seth.
"Yes, I know, but it's not something I really...want to tell them." Veraly replied. "I mean I don't want them to get the wrong impression of Phoenix."
"Veraly, everyone has gotten a bad impression of Phoenix at this point." objected Seth.
"Yes, but we shouldn't extend it further, really!" protested Veraly.

"He certainly acts like one--" Seth snickered,
"Just shut up! His name is Phoenix, he isn't a real Phoenix, he's my brother who's very much a human--" Veraly continued
"Um, no he isn't, and neither are you" Seth interrupted, but Veraly placed a finger over his mouth to shush him.
"And he is currently working as a poet..." added Veraly. "And if you must know Balthazar did something horrible to him--"
"Not just to him, he caused--" interrupted Seth.
"Do we really have to talk about it? I'd rather not." groaned Veraly.

"Don't tell them that!" protested Veraly.
"Well, it's a little bit too late for that now. Shall I tell them the rest?" asked Seth.
"No!" protested Veraly once more.

Veraly nodded.
"And he used an event he mind controlled Phoenix to be involved in, Phoenix's words not mine, to get more people afraid of shapeshifters-- If they were not already." continued Seth.
"And no, we're not shapeshifter hunters, why would we be shapeshifter hunters?"

"No, I told you to stop." snapped Veraly.

Seth looked back at the triplets, "do...you want me to tell you about what Balthazar did to Phoenix? Or answer all your questions about...the dragon in the room?" he winked.

Veraly came back into the room, after hearing from a distance that Seth was still talking to the triplets, "are you trying to make the story of what happened suitable for young audiences? Or something? I don't think scandals are suitable for them...Seth."
"Considering that they were fine with setting me on fire, I assumed they would be alright with that." said Seth.
" fire is much more tame than that." retorted Veraly.

"Who is a shapeshifter, also. I believe this was part of Balthazar's plan...Though I am not sure...how it was." He shrugged. "I...guess to show that even the royal family isn't safe from shapeshifters or something?"

"So, do you understand the thing I told you about?" asked Seth. "That isn't sibling rivalry or whatever you called this."

"Got it." said Seth, and then muttered to Veraly "I still don't understand why they don't believe in reincarnation given her stance on once being a goddess, I mean I believe in reincarnation already, but if I didn't that would make be believe in it."
Veraly sighed, "they can believe what they want to believe..."
Seth stared at her, "sure they can, but doesn't mean it makes sense to me." He turned back to Umber, "if you were or are the goddess and you've turned human. How is the religion still functioning? Are there other gods who take your place while you're gone? Or are there no longer any gods because you were the only one?"

Veraly was also confused, how did a religion suddenly lose all their gods or god? That didn't seem possible at all, if anything it seemed...Strange that that would happen.
"It sounds more like people lost faith or interest in your religion if you phrase it that way." replied Veraly.

"That makes sense!" said Veraly, elbowing Seth so he would stop attacking the triplets. She had been upset at that before, she was a bit annoyed at them still...But she didn't want Seth to continue verbally attacking them.

Seth nodded, and decided that maybe he should change the conversation again he looked over at Veraly and then at the triplets, "random question, but if I may ask, do other creatures other than humans exist in your world?"

She was even beginning to wonder how Seth figured out where he was, perhaps he knew something about what was going on...
