Okay, hear me out on this. I really thought it was called Fire and Ice, but every time I search for that I get George RR Martin. So this book is in a dystopian time where this girl and her family work in a mining community and get branded, but she pulled away during the brand so hers has left her a little lopsided/deformed. She's probably 18ish. They mine for coal (coal-like substance) to heat because the world is frozen. She can feel warmth sometimes...don't want to give too much away...
