It's time to nominate book for the month of romance.

Nominate your favorite title or one that you'd like to read for Feb 2022 in the comments below.

We will put up the polls around mid of the month.

HERE ARE THE RULES --->
★ No promotions of any kind!
★ Nominate only if you are willing to lead the discussions if your book is selected as the group's book of the month.
★ Please suggest a worthy title for the group to read as a whole, preferably within a month. (avoid chunksters!)
★ Each member can nominate one book, and can endorse/second any one of the running nominations.
★ Moderators have the final say in selecting a book for the poll.
★ Please avoid books already read by the group - https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

message 13: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments just an offbeat question; why do we second the nominations even when they are all put up for voting?

You can nominate only one book. I too loved North and South, and also, that BBC adaptation is fantastic.

Preeti Leena wrote: "I've not seen the BBC adaptation"
Leena, it's lovely and if we leave small misses, it's very true to the original. Please, do watch it....

message 27: by Sherin (new)

Sherin Punnilath (shery_7) | 7330 comments Would like to nominate Half of a Yellow Sun.
Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
It's been in my TBR for a while :)

Bookworm (have loads of catching up to do) | 1001 comments Does it have to be romance? Because the only book that comes to my mind is Pride and Prejudice. And it'll be a reread for almost everyone.
Will nominate another book in place of this, if I happen to find something else in the genre.

message 29: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments The Orange Girl by Jostein Garder. this is novella approx 150 pages only but just so.romatic.

Bookworm (have loads of catching up to do) | 1001 comments So, The Last Thing He Told Me lost only by 1 vote. I thought it'll lose by more :D.
Persuasion is fine too. I mean, it's Jane Austen! Well, the universe is definitely conspiring into making me read a romance. :)

message 37: by Savita (new)

Savita Singh | 1885 comments I am a Jane Austen fan too !

message 38: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments this will be a fun BOTM

message 40: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4073 comments And I am surprised my nominated book Bag of Bones by Stephen King bagged 9 votes. I was expecting 1 or 2 votes. I myself didn't vote for my own book. Lol

message 41: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments I really thought the Spulmate Equationn would win hands down. interesting

message 42: by Tretha (new)

Tretha | 10 comments Yes, look forward to this BOTM.

message 43: by Tretha (new)

Tretha | 10 comments Austin, funny you said that. coz I think you are expected to moderate the discussion if the book nomination you moot gets selected for BOTM? Group moderators, pls clarify.

message 44: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments I think it's Em who nominated it.id nominated Mandu and North and South which didn't make the cut.

message 45: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4073 comments I actually read a few pages of Bag of Bones and didn't like it. I wanted to withdraw my nomination and put some other book instead. But the polls were put up even before 15th of January. Usually polls are put up on or after 15th of every month. And anyway I didn't expect the book to win the nomination seeing other more heavyweight popular books among the book nominations.

message 46: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4073 comments * win the polls

message 47: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4073 comments If the book had got selected I would have read it by force. I can't just leave it like that.
