@Janice: I think Jenn and Kristie are giving good advice. I can't believe they let her go home without a word Kristie!

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I'm sure we had a thread for audiobooks somewhere but I can't find it. I have a question for audible users. I got a £5 coupon, but have no idea how to use it. When I click on a book I can either buy it with a credit or credit card, but there's nowhere to use the coupon. On the website top right corner it says I have 1 credit (and I can click on it) and a £5 coupon, but that one is grey and I can't click on it. Any ideas?

OMG. Kristie, This is totally insane. They actually knew and did not tell you anything? Good thing you doctor followed up.

I'm sorry to hear this, Janice. Yes, you should talk to your neurosurgeon, if anything to stop worrying. I hope it is nothing and you start feeling better soon.

That is very scary! You can't miss inform about something like that.

Sandra (sanlema) | 11260 comments My 20 years old son passed his driving test today. I'm so happy this is over. Next one in October, so I still will be doing a lot of driving in the passenger seat.

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Congrats to your son Sandra! And you, as his teacher :)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11260 comments Thank you, Peggy. I had a rock in my stomach while I was waiting for him to come back from the test. I never thought I would feel like that. Like if it were me all over again.

Janice (jamasc) | 59883 comments Thanks for your well wishes. I have an appointment in 1/2 hour with the nurse in charge of the stroke team. I'm sure she'll direct me on what to do. I'm stressed and anxious.

message 963: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59883 comments Sandra, yay for your son getting his drivers' license. I'll bet you are all thrilled.

Peggy, you should call customer service. If it shows that you have a credit on the top right page, it should automatically deduct if from a cash purchase.

message 964: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Thanks Janice! I'm guessing that should happen before I go to paying with credit card? Sometimes websites have the opportunity to provide a promotion code in a very late stage but I have no experience with audible and I worry I'll buy the book full price if I click to the next page.

That is great, Janice. You will feel so much reassured after talking to the nurse.

If you pay with your credit card, it should automatically apply the credit first. I just click to pay with my card.

This is from the email Audible sent me with the last coupon I received:

In order to use your coupon, you'll need to process your order as if it is a credit card purchase. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Go to www.audible.com
2. Locate the title you would like to buy and add it to your Cart.
3. When you're ready to check out, click the shopping cart located on the upper right hand corner of the page to view the Cart's contents.
4. In your Cart, just to the right of the book cover image, make sure the purchase button with the dollar amount is selected instead of the “1 Credit” one. Your coupon balance will be applied first and if it costs more than the price of the audiobook, there will be a “0.00” subtotal.
5. Click “Proceed to Checkout” and “Complete Purchase” to finalize your purchase.

If there is any remaining coupon balance, that may be applied to your next non-credit purchase.

Kristie | 19136 comments Congrats to you and your son, Sandra!

I'm so glad you are speaking with the nurse, Janice. Hopefully, it will be good news and ease your mind. Let us know how it goes.

I was quite surprised (to say the least) when the doctor called with my daughter's fracture information. My guess is that they initially read the x-rays wrong in the hospital and sent us home, then when someone (the specialist at the hospital or her doctor) read them correctly they didn't call us. They must have assumed we were given the correct information. Her doctor was very surprised that we didn't know already. Very scary.

Janice (jamasc) | 59883 comments It's been a hectic afternoon. The stroke nurse said to call the optometrist, explain my symptoms, and she bet they'd have me in right away. They did! They gave me an appointment in a half hour from the time I called. Their tests showed no symptoms of retinal damage. I go back tomorrow for more in depth tests. My doctor's office called and booked me for Monday afternoon, and instructed I get lab work done tomorrow. The social worker from the stroke team booked me for Tuesday. They are now thinking it might be migraine (no pain) brought on by stress and anxiety. So, I think they want to investigate that further.

After relaying that to my sister, the RN, she's thinking it's anxiety since I'm not having other issues. She said anxiety does some strange things to us.

I'm not sure I feel better or not. I guess I'll know better next week.

message 973: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I'm so glad to hear they're investigating and everybody's making time for you Janice!

Thanks for the info Kristie, I didn't receive any instructions. I'll try again or contact them if it doesn't work.

Kristie | 19136 comments Glad everyone is working on it, Janice! Hopefully, it is just anxiety. Your sister is right. It can do strange things to us.

Glad it worked, Peggy! I only received the instructions because they never sent my coupon and I had to contact them to get it.

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments Agree with everyone, Janice. I am glad you are getting care from people who know you and your conditions, and good on them for reacting accordingly (not so much for the first group you went to). Very much hope it's anxiety in a weird way, mainly as that will be something else to deal with but better than the alternatives. Look after you!!

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments Yay for your new driver, Sandra!

message 980: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments Jeez that's scary, Kristie, but seems to not be unusual.

I was having a chat to one of my staff the other day who had the same thing with his thumb when he was a teenager. He had multiple medical teams miss a fracture through the joint that joined his thumb to his hand, and unfortunately found out it was a fracture in the worse kind of way (he's fine now).

But spines are a lot lot scarier than a thumb!

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments How did I not know there has been a Lebanese restaurant restaurant in my city for almost a year?! It's one of my favourite cuisines and I could have enjoyed it for 11 months already! I guess I have some catching up to do :D

message 994: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11260 comments Yum, Peggy. I haven't eaten Lebanese food in ages. We do not have a restaurant in our city. Or at least I don't think so. I should check. :)

message 995: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Same here! We rarely eat it (the real stuff, not a lame home-attempt) because there's nothing near by. I always look for Indian, Thai and Lebanese restaurants when I'm on holiday in a bigger city because I love them and don't have any near here.

But check! Maybe you'll be surprised too :)
