Whatcha Doin' - 2022
I've just signed up for a bunch of different classes with some of my friends. :) I am going to be very busy... yoga, line dancing, crochet, horseback riding, water color painting... so fun!

Thanks, Sandra!
Rusalka wrote: "Aside to this conversation, all my notifications are broken it seems. Haven't seen any for two hours and there are a heap of unread threads."I was just noticing this now too.
@Sandra - in theory yes I can do online sessions but people don't want them. I'm stricter with my covid rules than other therapists in the area so miss out a bit because of that too. I guess we'll see how things go.No resolutions exactly. But I do want to be kinder to myself, do things I enjoy more and generally put my needs first, and build my business back up.
Sarah, I understand why people would want in person sessions. I guess the fact that you are stricter with COVID rules probably makes your clients more comfortable too.
I was in one of the houses designated for some top brass of the base. Looking for an electric breaker and I said what do you think you'd even call that room. It was the butlers kitchen.
Yeah. Didn't even know that was a thing lol

Yeah. D..."
Around here we get Spice Kitchens. So they are back to back kitchens, one gets used for all the spicier dishes and has a door that closes. There is a large South Asian population here, so lots of curry.

That's interesting. I didn't know that was a thing either
Heh Travis. We call them Butler's Pantries, but as butlers are not really a thing for many people here, they have become more commonly known as a walk in pantry. It is weird when you first hear about them, as it makes sense but completely and utterly outside our experience you would never even think about it. Spice Kitchens do sound more practical, Dawn. But isn't one of the steps of cooking a curry or a spicy dish when you can't actually be in the kitchen anymore as the spices make you cough so much? And bonus points if you get Lexx on the other side of the house lol
Rusalka wrote: "I love all the resolutions so far, or the non-resolutions. I agree, we need to be kinder to ourselves, make sure others are kinder to us, and make ourselves happier.I want to work less, be stress..."
Amen to that, Rusalka :)
I'm reading The Book of Moods: How I Turned My Worst Emotions Into My Best Life and I can only recommend it. I learned so much about myself reading this.

Just did that the other night. I think it was the cayenne pepper I was using, couldn't stop sneezing either.
New thing I learned. Guy says I don't know what it is with the housing section over here but this area in particular they close off their little side roads and throw block parties. Women dancing in the street kids playing in water people grilling and then some houses have out their pink flamingoes.Pink flamingoes in the front yard means they're swingers
Yup. Never knew
Travis wrote: "Pink flamingoes in the front yard means they're swingers"I had no idea!
(btw, notifications not working again)
I've actually heard that before and was so surprised. It makes me wonder how many people have pink flamingos, but don't know that. lol
Sandra wrote: "...(btw, notifications not working again)"I noticed this today too. They are all messed up. I'll get nothing, then some old notifications with nothing new in the thread.
I haven’t heard about the pink flamingo…I thought it was an upside down pineapple. Either way…pass lol
Either way, probably wise to do a double check if you're into that kind of thing and spot flamingoes or pineapples anywhere ;-)
I have a friend who had, I think it was an orange, hair tie on her wrist and it had a little knot in it. Her dentist hit on her and told her it meant she was a swinger! She was shocked. She is super religious, been married for years, and had no idea. lol I had never heard of that before either. I think she was the one who looked it up and told me about the flamingoes too. Apparently, it is the combination of the color and the knot. I suggested she get a new dentist if he was hitting on people because they have hair ties on their wrists.
Kristie wrote: "I have a friend who had, I think it was an orange, hair tie on her wrist and it had a little knot in it. Her dentist hit on her and told her it meant she was a swinger! She was shocked. She is supe..."Oh my, what a moment. Lol.
Lol, Peggy! That's what I said when she told me. Well, after I picked my jaw up off the floor and stopped laughing. haha
Lol Indeed! When I was in uni we lived next door to a large supermarket. Apparently, if you walked around the aisles with a trolley with only a banana in it in that particular supermarket, you were up for something.
The something was always unclear, as was the numbers of bananas (was it a single banana or a bunch? Or did a bunch mean something *completely* different?), but I guarantee you we never started our shop in the fruit and veg section, just in case.
OMG I ran a full 5k!! I didn't intend to, had even stopped my training for it a while ago, but today I was running and it felt good and I didn't feel a need to stop and then I did 5.14k!!
Way to go, Peggy! It amazing how your body gets trained and ready to do it without you really noticing.
lol, Rus! So funny. Sometimes, you just don't know what you're putting out to the world! Yay, Peggy!! Way to go! That is amazing!
This movie on Netflix right now, "Don't Look Up". Freaking hilarious. What's scary is it's probably close to true. But I highly recommend it
Excellent work Peggy! I really need to start doing my weights workouts again. I really enjoyed doing them after dinner in the evenings back in the Summer it was still light so it felt quite nice. Now I just want to curl up on the sofa. So I think I might need to do the workouts in the morning. Might set me up for the day too.

Sarah wrote: "Excellent work Peggy! I really need to start doing my weights workouts again. N..."My old housemate, who owns a weights and martial arts gym, recommends not doing weights after you eat. You do the workout and then eat. I know that can push dinner back, but maybe that will help with the motivation if you do it before tea?
But don't listen to me. I've been trying to do 5 pull ups per day, and failed for the past 2 days. I walk past the bar every time I go to the loo.
My son and I drove 5 hours to Edmonton the other day, stayed in the most uncomfortable hotel, reported to the hospital yesterday morning and was prepped for surgery. The doctor came in and told me they had to cancel my surgery because there was an emergency that required immediate intervention. It's been rebooked for 2 weeks, and we'll do it all again. This time, they've booked me for the first slot of the morning. I'm off to book a more comfortable hotel.
I understand the situation and am not overly upset. People were bumped from their procedures when I had my stroke, and I'm grateful to them. So I don't mind giving up my slot for someone in greater need. I won't be so understanding next time. Having the first appointment of the morning should reduce the risk. They just damn well better make sure there's a bed in the observation ward for my overnight stay.
I'm sorry to hear your surgery was cancelled, Janice. It is understandable, o course, but still a pain for you. I hope everything goes according to the plan in two weeks.
That is horrible Janice, especially after traveling all that way. I am hoping that doesn’t happen next week for Sean. It is his first surgery, so it is taking a lot of self talk to psych himself up for it. I hope the angels in the scheduling department are watching over you both 🤞🥰

I haven’t been participating in discussions recently so it’s about time I stopped lurking and started joining in. I have been very busy for 3 or 4 months now on a new project, a series of posters depicting the literary history of the Darling Downs for a new event being organised- the 2022 Toowoomba Wordfest by a friend of mine. I am also on the Collaboration Team.🤷♀️ The posters were unveiled at a lead up event in November. This has led to the idea of writing a book, which I’m about halfway through. Really enjoying it, but so time-consuming as I still have to make time to read😁 and plan for the Road Trip Challenge, and plan for a real road trip and look after the family and see friends and… and… You all know what I mean.Even though I haven’t made the time to comment, I’ve been following with interest what you’re all up to, and what you’re reading and often adding those books to the TBR list thinking optimistically they’ll be moved to the Read list.
