Sales are so time consuming... the way I do it, I add tons of stuff to my cart, then I load up Hoopla/etc, and start doing searches to see what I can read without opening my wallet, and pare it down, and buy the stuff I can't get elsewhere or cheaper with KU pricing...

Sneaky author.

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments HAHAHAHA! That was hilarious. Ugh. I gotta decide if I want to back this kickstarter.

Narilka | 5692 comments That Audible sale...

Almost everything on my wishlist is $14 or higher, so not worth it. I'm finally picking up Project Hail Mary. Also using a credit for The Broken Room.

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Sanderson's KS: I'd do the ebook & audiobook, except I don't like some of the narrators that Sanderson has used for some of his books. AHHH decisions.

The backers went up from 8k to 11k in an hour. Hahahhahah

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Legends & Lattes:

I'm reading it super slow. Switching from LMS to L&L. So, I wasn't surprised when I tried to scroll up for L&L and it didn't work. Hahahha

I have my Kindle app & eBook readers to swipe to change pages. I like it that way to simulate the turning of pages.

Scrolling up & down for webseries & swipes left/right for ebooks. XD lol

I need to change my KS password before I can back... and KS is being annoying... had to send a ticket to support, since password emails aren't arriving at my email... hopefully THAT email reaches my mailbox "within the next 3 business days"... they don't have a live chat option... I prefer those, these days... at least you can interact with someone and be sure something is happening...

Lingering issues from my browser saved logins wipe a few weeks ago... haven't accessed Kickstarter since the Dawnshard kickstarter a year or 2 ago...

message 1510: by Narilka (new) - rated it 5 stars

Narilka | 5692 comments Yeah Kickstarter is giving me trouble resetting my password too. I think they got swamped.

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments Thats where Im at Soo! I think Id at least go for the hardback..

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments Maybe i can go halfsies with my husband for my bday..

Thanks... password reset arrived 1hr late... support response an hour later, basically confirming it's an ongoing issue atm like you said... logged in now, and saved on Chrome...

Getting the audio option, obviously... I'm more forgiving of Kramer than Soo... I expect the Cosmere stuff to use them mostly, and the non-Cosmere to use someone else maybe?...

the kickstarter gets expensive if you go for physical items... especially if you go for the swag and need to add $120-$420 in shipping, depending if you're US or International...

The kickstarter warning are hilarious, when the project has been live like 3 hours and already at 550% backing with $5.5 million pledged...

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments I know, the shipping cost is what convinced me to just do the books and not the swag... I have almost all of Sanderson's in hardback so that's just what I went for.. But 40 in shipping makes me weep lol

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments L&L through chapter 17ish (view spoiler)

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments L&L: find it pretty funny Hem is portrayed as a bit of a... hipster maybe? Maybe not the quite the right word, but as pretentious at least... Doesn't eat bread, wants cold drinks, and to just chill at the cafe all day xD
And Pendry is experimenting with rock/alternative music it seems like hehe

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments Has anyone requested a thread for Spelunking Through Hell? Shall we do a BR here? I'm very excited for the next incryptid :)

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments Wanna do a mini BR here then? I can start in the next day or two.

Looking at my friends reviews of #10, the only person in this group that's read the series is RachelG... we should check with her about popping in, otherwise I'm fine with it... I probably won't start until Thursday... it's one of the books I deem easy to listen to at work... as much as I've been looking forward to this book for the past 5 years, I can wait another day :)

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments Sounds good to me! :)

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments Finished L&L! Really liked this one.,. I think the book blurb was the perfect description really
(view spoiler)

message 1527: by Soo (new) - rated it 3 stars

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments L&L - I've read a few chapters. I thought the beginning was too heavily crafted in an awkward manner in print. lol

Baldree really tried to be descriptive with short sentences & stuff. Heh A+ for effort. Between C+ to B- for results.

I have questions on that stone! Emily, does it look like L&L will be a series?

message 1528: by Soo (new) - rated it 3 stars

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Meanwhile, I'm juggling Audible purchases & listening to certain series now to confirm if I want to take advantage of the sale to get the other books. Which are around $3-5 now vs $7.47 or a credit later.

XD

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments Hmm.. the story is definitely self-contained so I dont think so. No need for a direct sequel or anything but theres still room to explore id guess.

message 1530: by Soo (new) - rated it 3 stars

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Sweet. I like that it's self-contained and there's room for more if Baldree wants to expand.

I am curious to see how a coffee machine is in the fantasy setting. I'm only at the setup stage.

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Audible finally made it easy to delete books from the Wish List. It used to glitch and sometimes cancel out. I'd have to go back into the Wish List and make my way back to the page I was on last.

Keep in mind that my Wish List is a mix of TBR/potential reads/mabye it'll go on sale/upcoming releases/Audible Plus books, etc.

It's like 76 pages now. XD

Choko (chokog) | 12597 comments I was away from Internet today, so I couldn't log in and participate, but it gave me more time to read:) So I finished both AV2 and L&L... Really enjoyed them both!!!

AV2... Now I can't wait to get to the next book and find out what is going to happen with (view spoiler)

L&L... (view spoiler)

I loved Project Hail Mary! I can't say anything for the quality of the audiobook, but I loved the story. One of my favorites from last year. Very feel good.

My GR TBR has been staying around 7k for a while now. Bwahahhaha~~

Also, I'm finally deleting some of the books on the Audible Wish List. Now that it's easy to do.

Project Hail Mary has a great narrator. Good stuff.

Choko (chokog) | 12597 comments Isn't it funny, with all the news from the turmoil in the world, with the state of the union, with the pandemic, the biggest news of the day was Sanderson being his prolific self and surprising us with those secretly written books??? But it is true...

Everyone needs some good things to focus on!

It was funny, my mom and I crossed phone lines today--she was calling me to talk to me about the State of the Union, and I was calling her to gush about the Year of Sanderson.

Choko (chokog) | 12597 comments You already finished it, Emily??? Wow! You are fast:)

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments Choko, having a lot of the same thoughts for AV2! The political shift is definitely reminiscent of real world companies, some politics.. Change beliefs/stances based on what's most beneficial to the company lol

Tonari no Emily (emlfem) | 5115 comments Oh no, I read that one a bit ago!

Nirkatze | 21019 comments Halfway through TT2: Michael Holister. Am constantly surprised at the author's ability to turn unlikable characters into sympathetic ones. Can I still be a good person (view spoiler)

AV and Nevermore were definitely my favorite aspect of AV2... and Big Axe + Slammer... Bowling NIght, etc etc...

Senator Vernon is the most frustrating...
