I hear HBO Max has a ton of good stuff... but I kinda feel like I have too many subscriptions already... maybe when I cancel Amazon or something (it's the one I use the least)...

Netflix and Hulu get alot of use for me... Disney, I should probably cancel when I'm not watching a Marvel show...

Choko (chokog) | 12597 comments My feelings exactly! Right now I am tempted to get the Peacock because of the Olympics, but I can barely juggle the ones that are in TV, so no...

I am definitely going to do the Dr. Who!!!

Peacock is free, unless you want an upgraded experience... I use Peacock sometimes, for TNT and USA Network shows... adblocker blocks the ads half the time, and that's probably the only reason to pay...

Just have to make an account, I think...

This can turn into a Doctor Who discussion thread... I'm totally gonna start watching again... might write a little one-liner about each episode I watch...

I vividly remember the opening... Doctor Who was the first thing I watched where Eccleston was smiley... everything else I'd seen he was a frowny villain... like the car chopper in Gone in 60 Second with Nicolas Cage...

And the pilot of the reboot has living mannequins... super low budget and campy and weird... I think if they touch you awhile, you turn into a mannequin person?... kinda like Mr. Smith in The Matrix sequels?...

Choko (chokog) | 12597 comments Sounds disgusting!

Soo, Weed-nim singing in the jewelry store was hilarious! Almost lost a trade because of his belief he can sing, haha! I am enjoying my snow weather tablet reading and Olympics watching today...

Some aspects feel similar to the first book... but the series is kinda just ridiculous stuff, so I don't care much... wouldn't mind seeing more in this series...

40% thru Constance Verity #2: Somehow, Constance is the worst part of these books... she keeps coming up with new ways to be annoying... it's sad, really... (view spoiler)

It's like your issues with the first book, and then some, Choko... all the ridiculous plotting is fun, tho...

message 921: by Choko (new) - rated it 4 stars

Choko (chokog) | 12597 comments Iain, I just started it and yes, I have no idea why she is doing this... As you said though, it's still fun so far:)

Soo, I just read the two romantic comedy books that you recommended from Audible Plus. I truly enjoyed them, for what they were:) Perfect pallet cleansers! Since the boyfriend in the second one was secretly a web coming writer, I was thinking.... Soo, are you sure you are not secretly Pirateaba?????

message 922: by Choko (new) - rated it 4 stars

Choko (chokog) | 12597 comments Soo, love your character in MLS!!! Totally adorable!

MLS V3, almost at the end. I love the little future Pope for the Frea religion! He is so super-powered for such a little dude! I hope they don't get totally killed by the Vampires... Also, what the hell? The whole dojo of 500 people got into the game, and the dojo is paying for it???!!! It was hilarious how the five instructors died of hunger right away:):):) I hope, once they get their bearings, they become Weed's allies, I don't want them to compete against him...

message 923: by Soo (new) - rated it 3 stars

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Swordnoobs! Hahahaha! It's not the whole dojo. That's what I learned later. It's the Master, his 5 disciples and 500 trainees. There are apparently a thousand+ students training with the hope of becoming a trainee.

The Master considers Hyun to be his latest disciple.

I'm in Vol21 now and Hyun TOTALLY knows that he can't sing! He knows it but does it anyway because he's willing to perform for the viewers! LOL!!! He's attitude is like, I know I suck but I have to do it for those who watch my battles. Hahahaha

I'm not Pirateaba. LoL My brain doesn't quite work the way hers does for writing. =D

message 924: by Choko (new) - rated it 4 stars

Choko (chokog) | 12597 comments Haha! I totally thought about you and Pirateaba when I was reading that! Weird, but now I can't stop laughing and am deeply convinced that you are her:):):) Hahaha! Not logically, of course, but just that niggling suspicion, that when you decide to come out to the masses, I will like -Ha! I knew it! It's her!!!

About the dojo, you found a great way to not tell me if they are going to fight with or against Weed! And yes, his singing is horrendous and his desire to keep on doing it - mind boggling, since no one wants to hear him do it:):):)

Iain, Conny is self sabotaging for sure, but everyone around her, except Tia of course, is not making it easy either. Everyone is making both of them question if they are good for each other and that constant questioning must create doubts in both of their minds... I would definitely hate it if someone, let alone everyone, constantly questioned my choices...

Went outside and dealt with the last of the snow around my parking space...

I think my energy is slowly improving... and the snow is starting to melt and easier to manage...

Glad I went out and did it, tho... because it took me awhile to realize the noise earlier was some of the snow falling off the roof... and last thing I needed was bad luck breaking my windshield when the whole thing decides to slide off... so I parked elsewhere for the time being... hopefully it'll fall between now and when I get off work tomorrow...

message 930: by Choko (new) - rated it 4 stars

Choko (chokog) | 12597 comments Iain, you are in Chicago, right? Isn't it difficult to find an alternative parking space? At least when I visit there, I can barely find any parking...

Choko wrote: "Iain, you are in Chicago, right? Isn't it difficult to find an alternative parking space? At least when I visit there, I can barely find any parking..."

No... Springfield... I have off-street parking, and in an emergency there's some curbside parking... that's a bit rougher with the snow, so I just took one of the not-real parking spots my neighbors invented that generally piss me off... the landlords even repainted the parking lot to try and get people to stop parking there, but it didn't really work... generally, makes it harder for me to back out of my parking slot...

I think Larry invented half of the stuff as a chance to get back together with Connie... she's his "one that got away" :D

The whole thing is ridiculous, like everything about this series...

I'm at the 90% mark now, and (view spoiler)... and I just laugh and shake my head...

I can't wait for Connie to learn what Tia and the aliens figured out about the Snurkab... (view spoiler)... DOH... :D

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments LoL For realsies! Hahah

You guys, I'm not superwoman. When I start writing, which I will at some point, I will not have the time to read the amount of books I do now. It'll be writing, research, editing, yelling at editing or writing, hiking and other life stuff. Doing stuff takes up time, and I'm not as fast as I used to be. Ahhh the trials of aging.

message 937: by Soo (new) - rated it 3 stars

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments Whew-- Stupid WebToon did some wacko thing to show me an ad for a comic that's not in English. It's like, to view this, you have to change your content to Indonesian. I was curious and clicked. Not smart!

At least, I was able to figure out how to turn it back to English. Eek! The accounts are totally different per language and the comic coins don't transfer. Glad I was able to fix it on my own.

message 947: by Julian (new)

Soo (silverlyn) | 6898 comments I always had books. Maybe there was a while when I didn't own books at home because I wasn't in S. Korea and learning English, but that's probably the only time I didn't have books. XD

I'm sure you'll fill up that shelf and more, Julian!

Brian, are you going to make a library area or just recycle books?

I got rid of the last of my books before my most recent move... I had some Wheel of Time paperbacks from college/etc... some John Grisham from high school... and one or 2 Dresden hardbacks...

Now, the only reason I own any books is House of Leaves & Ship of Theseus... books that can only be experienced in print, for reasons beyond the lack of audio...
