Vagabond Treehouse (2023) [Beware of Chicken 3 - December 4th]
Threadbare is the best... and a great dose of lightness... and a decent intro to LitRPGs, I think, for the uninitiated... altho i kinda just fast forward through the status screen updates at the beginning and end of each book...

The Maiden was one of the things that was introduced (amazing) and then not really go in depth. *shakes fist at leaving reader uninformed*

Seems like something that should have been enough to turn the tide of the original orc war... I mean... if it's such a threat against mongrels, except for the fact of (view spoiler)
Altho, then they wouldn't have had the half-orcs guarding the Lot Lands for the last couple decades...
Speaking of Powers: (view spoiler)
The Maidens definitely seem like a pretty random thing to add to the world, at this late stage...

Montana (MC) is talking to some guy. They're having an exchange of information. Montana needs to learn about the world he ended up in and about the leveling system. Other guy wants to know about Earth.
Summarized Exchange:
M: We don't have magic there.
OG: How would you know how much life you have?
M: You don't. You just sorta guess.
OG: ?!?! That's so barbaric!
Hehehehe, no stat screens. We on Earth are barbarians without magic. LoL

I liked the Maidens. But I don't think it's easy to train them? I mean... without knowing anything but the intro, you can take that they have to be:
- virgin
- learn to fight
- overcome pain
- be religious to call on God for power
They're like suicide bombs. Short life expectancy. They can fight until they don't survive from the solo encounter against whatever.
Oats: (view spoiler)
Yea... this Lot Lands world doesn't have simple magic users... (view spoiler)
So far, the books been nothing like I expected, altho I'm unsure what I really expected... and am near the halfway point?
Definitely wasn't expecting all the boat stuff... taking a break while I eat and watch a movie... probably finish about 75% today, and the rest tomorrow-ish... might jump to something else at work tomorrow...

It's a skill that kicks in when he dies in game. I've been waiting for it to kick in for a while. =D
Exciting!

Finished the first volume is LMS. I am hooked because I am fascinated by Weed. He is one of a kind for sure:) And it ended on a cliffy, so I need to know:) Started the second volume right away!
Or not... finished my meal movie, and made the mistake of watching the trailer for Shadow in the Cloud... never thought much of the movie from the title / poster, but the trailer hooked me... it's a WWII-era sci-fi/horror/UF movie... now I want to watch it...
That movie was ridiculous... and pretty low-budget... 75% of the movie is her locked in the turret Spurry, and you just hear the other cast on the radio from the rest of the plane... saving the budget for the explosions & CGI gremlin monster at the end...

Iain, it's good to have a relaxing day. =)

basically, yea... from the makers of Atomic Blonde and Deadpool 2
by the end, Chloe Moretz had a fistfight with a gremlin then breastfed a baby, roll credits, #feminism...

You're welcome, I guess... I like popcorn action movies... altho I seem to have more success with romcoms sometimes... I like alot of the low-ish budget movies that Dave Bautista has made, like My Spy and the one where there are terrorists in a soccer stadium trying to kill a WitSec guy...
I went back, and read some more, but now I have a headache, so I guess I'm done for the day...
Interesting stuff with Oats (view spoiler)
Also, like you said, the only resolution I can imagine so far is a stalemate / soft ending... the half-orcs best situation is being a middle-ground between 3 other nations... the human oppressors, the full orcs, and the vague foreign desert people that all want to rule the world... (view spoiler)

Hahah yeah that's what I was telling my coworker. I have spares of my phone charger, but they usually all still end up at home and not stay in my bag lol

Wandering Inn Vol2 is 1,605 pages.
You have gone way past 770 pages. Woo!

This is tame for this series… volume 3+ need to be split into multiple ebooks/audiobooks…
V5+ are over 3000 pages, I think…
V5+ are over 3000 pages, I think…

Pull up the series page on audible and follow the listings in order… audiobook 3 & 4 = volume 3… audiobook 5 is half of volume 4…

Julian, you'll have to suck it up and read from the website like the rest of us that want to keep going. Though, Vol4 Pt2 should drop in a few months.

The Geomichi dojo (1 Master, 5 Senior Instructors, 500 Trainees - Not counting the 5,000 Students) and their romantic trials. XD
- 1 Guy hooked a girlfriend in Royal Road when he defended her against the Dragon during one of the major quests and died heroically.
- 1 may be making moves on the female player that's playing an Orc. She made sure to make the orc as fugly as possible. Love knows no bounds! hahahah
Weed, his crew, his sister and the Geomichis are in the Vampire Kingdom. Which is only accessible at certain times and by invitation. So, unexplored areas, storylines, etc.
Weed & crew are approached by a TV station to broadcast their adventures in the Vampire Kingdom.
The Geomichis are still looking for love. It's like the second thing they work on after training the way of the sword and everything that entails.
They plan to take off their shirts when they go into battle and shout: Our sword is invicible!
To show off their physique, bravery and honor as they go into battle and maybe gain some gal's heart.
LOL

I can't remember the name of the book, but there was a book I read a kid that had distinct phases of how people grew up. Set in a futuristic time, with space travel and planet/space/etc hopping. I liked how within the culture it was expected for young people to explore, question and be adventurous. It may not be something you do forever, but the idea was to get out there and be in the moment 100%. If a part of that is to push sexual boundaries, crossdress, etc--there was an expectation of acceptance for going hog wild and expressing/being whatever. I felt that book had a better handle on incorporating different sexual identities than what most people try to explain, be or whatever now. This was before the current trends on labeling stuff without understanding the labels or having the open mind that sexual identities can be in flux, etc.
I had a somewhat unusual reading history, and read a bunch of stuff that I probably would not give to a kid to read now. LOL

Yeah, as a kid I watched a lot of movies I probably shouldn't have..
