Also, I stumbled into an issue with 14 that required a post to the Goodreads Librarians... Goodreads no longer considers it a book, for some reason... and there are like 3 weird clone results in the search results...
I got hit for Not a Bot Capshas twice today. 👎Link for 14 worked fine? Still has book page. Why need Librarian help?

This is what I get:

Sends you to help page, which provides links to Support and Librarians, if you think the book/etc needs to be reviewed for issues.
And when I say double CAPTCHAs, I mean when you've done so many recently, it starts making you do multiple for a single edit/etc... getting one right loads another to do... and/or the ones where you have to keep doing, until no image matches the description...

Can you guys edit your review?... any changes I try to make to mine fail to process... even if the banner doesn't appear on the book page (which happens sometimes)...
You can get a bunch of different book page links, depending on which of the 36 editions you're loaded on, but all seem broken (I tried 2-3 random ones)...
I never said the link was broken, I said the book was broken...

Bot Check:
When I updated for one LN, I had to click on I'm not a Bot and 3 image checks.
The next note update had 1 image check.
It seems to be so random.

- Between random checks on LN sites and a few (recent) GR recs, came across this one. Currently on Ch213 and maybe near the 4th arc. 🤣🤣🤣The writer is definitely on top of the popular Asian tropes, comix & webnovels. Cause this series has mocked them.
Ya know how uncomfortable it was to read darker aspects of the characters in Wandering Inn? Like, no one can argue that Erin comes across as dumb, selfish and kinda mean in Volume 1. There's so much "Woe is me, I'm all alone, I don't know anything, what do I do" vibe. Which was right for that segment but hardly the whole of any character in WI.
Ok, take that web of discomfort and that's how I felt about the 1st arc. The situation was grim, the MC was flailing cause tossed into deep end with zero support and crazy stuff just kept happening. It's like a double whammy of woah that sucks! You watch it happen to the MC and nod your head in total agreement when the MC is like, what is happening?!?! 😱😱😱

From what I can see, this whole series is based on snark mocking tropes and throwing them on their heads. Instead of seeing it from the main protagonist POV, the MC is ALWAYS put in the antagonist aka cannon fodder spot.
Ning Shu is a positive person who spent most of her life in the hospital. She died from cancer at 27. The last 10 years of her life were spent, mostly in bed, at the hospital. But! She had a warm & loving family. Due to being sick all her life, she has limited life experiences and she only regretted not being able to do more. Normal person, not a genius, etc.
Ning Shu died, her soul was able to see her family mourn her death and wished them well. Then she let go for whatever is next.
Well... she ends up in a blank white space. Has nothing to do, no one answered her. She decided to zen out. Sorta
A cold, metalic voice suddenly talked to her later. She has been chosen to help settle other soul's last wishes. This will give her chances to "live".
- System 404 is a jerk & totally not helpful. Doesn't explain squat.
- Ning Shu's Player # is 2333 which apparently stands for LMAO in Chinese netspeak. More 3s mean more LMAOOOO. 🤣
- There are stats & limitations. Like Ning Shu has Soul 50, 1 = 1 year of life, and she uses up her "life time" with each quest. There's a limit of 5 years per quest. Failure is death. Not getting out of newb player status is death, etc.
- Ning Shu has ???? Charm points cause she never zero romantic experiences. This also effects how others interact with her. 😆
Arc 1: High School Bully with Transmigration Female Lead
Ning Shu has to defeat the FL that was a powerful cultivator whi has been reborn in modern world. She managed to keep her cultivation, but there's no "spiritual energy" that she can gather with meditation/etc. So she basically turns to dark cultivation arts like a succubus to drain life energy.
The way Ning Shu managed to complete this quest was bonkers, funny and over the top.
Arc 2: Historical Asian Princess, gotta survive court intrigues and not end up in super awful political marriage to Huns/Mongols.
Arc 3: Trope of CEO & FL Random Hookup, FL poofs, Comes back 7 years later with genius twins
Ning Shu wanted to kill everyone in this arc. 🤣🤣🤣
Recurring: What twisted worldview crappery is this?!?! Cause people/events always morph for the protagonist.
Arc 4: Zombie Apocalypse 🤣🤣🤣
I was surprised that the best side character from Arc 1 is in Arc 4. "Uncle" is super badass and OCD mean. 🤣🤣🤣
Basically, it's a lot of seeing from the "bad guy" POV and having them not be so awful and doing some good. Maybe 🙃😉🤣

I don't feel like I'm answering CAPTCHAs right... I'm answering how I THINK they want me to... because, sometimes, being 100% accurate says you're wrong... especially when the thing is in the far distance, blurry, or only 3 pixels, when they decide to do a single image split into 16 parts... so annoying...
There is no rhyme or reason to captchas. Zero. You can refresh the test if you don't like the one given. I've done that a few times.
- End of Arc 4 ZombiesOhhhh! System has to be upgraded. Now it's called 2333 and Ning Shu is an official Player. Baby System is like a puppy trying to help but isn't actually helpful. 😆

Jin is the MC. 🤣 I forget his name too sometimes. The plot is centered around Jin. He is like the bones & heart of the story. Considering how he's laid back, goofy, caring and accepting attitude makes everything else possible. Like creating a home where anyone (human, animal, spirit, etc) can be themselves and grow.
I love everything about BOC... It's exactly what the doctor ordered:)))By the way, Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate!

Only need to do September to hit my yearly reading challenge goal of 366 books, I think... 1 book a day is basically the highest I set the challenge)...
I actually never earned the challenge completion last year, because it took me so long to catch up on ratings/reviews, and they don't hand them out late anymore, I guess...

Monster Menu: A Slice-of-Life LitRPG - DON'T BUY IT ON SALEI didn't hate it, but I SUPER did not enjoy listening to the story.
Reasons Why I Should Like It:
- Good Narrator (New to me but Mela Lee is great.)
- This is Gamelit, not LitRPG.
- Cooking!
- Interesting Concepts for Abilities/Side Characters
But I spent the whole time wondering why I was bored and detached from story.
Plus, author is dead. So this is it.
Maybe worth borrowing but not worth half a credit in 2for1 Credit sale.
