Fairy Tale Audiobook. Stephen King need I say more.
New and Selected Poems, Volume One ebook. Taking small bites of this one. Nibbles really.
The Alzheimer's Solution: A Breakthrough Program to Prevent and Reverse the Symptoms of Cognitive Decline at Every Age ebook. Interesting so far.
Cloud Cuckoo Land Hardback. I am currently completly ignoring this one. La-la-la-la-la.

I'll just say now that I'm pretty sure this will land in my "Good King" category.

Michelle has spoken, I will put it on hold. :-) :-) :-)

I think I'm fairly alone in disliking this book. I love time travel and this looked like it was right up my alley but nope. I hadn't thought of it in the same context as Romeo and Juliet but maybe that was it. And I hated Romeo and Juliet as well. You were much kinder in the ratings than I was.

You're not alone. It wasn't good time travel or good romance as far as I'm concerned. I tried to be kind because the writing was pretty and the idea was good if it had been executed better. So many writers from different genres are now incorporating Fantasy/SciFi/Magic Realism into their stories. Sometimes this is delightful and sometimes it is disaster. I think in most of the disaster cases they overlook one vital element of fantasy. That is world building. To be a complete story the reader has to understand the rules/background/topography/whatever of this setting you have created. Otherwise we can't get invested in the story. Why do they think that every classic fantasy novel has a map at the beginning? You've got to provide some context.

Cloud Cuckoo Land hardback. This has become my weekend read. I make great strides on the weekend and get into the story and then neglect it all week.
The Alzheimer's Solution: A Breakthrough Program to Prevent and Reverse the Symptoms of Cognitive Decline at Every Ageebook. Interesting but I'm not sure I could ever live a lifestyle this rigid.
New and Selected Poems, Volume One ebook. Taking this one in slowly.
Ellie Dwyer's Great Escape Audiobook. This one is for my RL book club and I'm liking it better than I expected.

Looks like I need to add this on to my audiobook list. I’m always looking for lighter stories to fit in between heavier reading

Just finished Dahmer; so maybe watching this will be fun since I read the story.

I think you will like it Alondra. No real gore or super villain here just good old fashioned round the campfire scary story. At one point watching the action on screen I told my husband OK I would have peed my pants just then. Creepy like that.

Blew past the 100 book marker! Woohoo!
Currently:
Six Wakes Audiobook. SciFi Mystery. I'm liking it.
Other Birds ebook. Latest by Sarah Addison Allen an author I usually enjoy.
New and Selected Poems, Volume One by Mary Oliver ebook. Still enjoying this one a nibble at a time.
Cloud Cuckoo Land Hardback. I'm ignoring this one again. I can't figure out why this one is to difficult. I enjoy it when I can sit down and read it. Oh wait, maybe that is it. I haven't really been able to just sit down and read lately. I'm in that mid life squeeze stage of life, a sandwhich with me in the middle children/grandchild on one side and parents on the other. Its great to have them all but terrible for reading time.

I enjoyed it too Lillie (more to follow). I'm going to have to check out the new one.

Obviously since I have been reading Cloud Cuckoo for months now, I would have to say I can't get into it either. I am determined to finish it but it's slow going. There are about 5000 main characters and multiple time lines and a weird myth like story that is supposed to tie everything together???? The writing is solid but there is too much going on. Everytime I get into one of the stories it switches to another story. I can only do that so many times before I give up. Right now I am mainly reading it on weekends when I have longer periods of time to concentrate on it. Unfortunately, that is not every weekend so I will probably wind this one up sometime in 2023. It makes me sad because I enjoyed All the Light We Cannot See so much.

Do try Six Wakes especially if you like mysteries. It was very enjoyable.

LOL, I felt the same. And also loved All the Light We Cannot See, too.

I'm currently listening to this one, and having the same reaction to the narration of the chats, etc. Might be better in print, because of all the abbreviations. Long, but it's interesting.

Glad I'm not alone. It's such a pity because the narrator for this series is excellent. I like him almost as much as Jim Dale (narrator of the Harry Potter series). I always try to listen to these rather than read the print. Maybe I'll have to review the book a little more next time. The mystery itself was excellent it just takes a long time to unfold.

I have so many books going and I'm reading so little.
Babel, or the Necessity of Violence: an Arcane History of the Oxford Translators' Revolution Audiobook. Enjoying this one. It's a much better fantasy book than the title implies.
Tripwire Paperback. I have literally read about 3 pages but I really wanted to get back to Reacher.
Cloud Cuckoo Land Hardback. Still a slow slog with little progress.
New and Selected Poems, Volume One ebook. I'm enjoying the poems but I am stretching this one out a bit.
Skinnytaste Fast and Slow: Knockout Quick-Fix and Slow-Cooker Recipes for Real Life ebook. Not much of interest I'm afraid.

Some people read a book for the cover. I'm more of a title person. In this case it makes it sound a little boring though and it is the opposite. An orphan, a school of magic, a revolution, an outcry against colonialism and racism. Lots of action and social justice.

Congrats for finishing it, especially since it was not an easy read.
I tried it some time ago, and could not get into it. After your review and Lea's recent 2 stars, I must admit, I have no desire to give it a 2nd chance. This will stay a DNF for me.

Probably a good call.

Clark and Division was really nice. Just a perfect combination of mystery and history. The Mercy Thompson series is just book candy but sometimes that's what you need right?

Both of those are great books Ioana. You're going to enjoy them. Sadly, it didn't reduce the pile of books at all. All of the above were audiobooks that I check out from the library. I have so little time to actually hold a book in my hands and read it these days.
