They must count. Some days they preserve my sanity. I don't function well without books.
Really liked Blacktop Wasteland, glad you were able to get to it.The Code Breaker gene editing book looks great. Have added it to my list. You are very bad for my tbr list, lol
I'm finally getting around to finishing up this thread and the rest of 2022. COVID knocked me out for a week and I'm trying to play catch up now. #129
To Shake the Sleeping Self: A Journey from Oregon to Patagonia, and a Quest for a Life with No Regret Honest, adventurous and well written account of one young man's journey to Patagonia and to his most authentic self. Nice. This book reminded me of the reason I enjoy memoirs - to peek into another person's reality. 4 stars. Audiobook. Nonfiction-Memoir.#130
A Very Merry Bromance The latest in the Bromance series was a delightful holiday romance. Loved it. 4 stars. Audiobook. Romance.130 books/14910 pages
So to wrap up the year. I've enjoyed my no pressure reading flow challenge for 2022 so much I'm going to make a similar individual challenge for 2023. I didn't set a lot of goals here except to flow naturally from one book to another and not stress about challenges or library hold lists. I think I was successful on the whole and it was relaxing and easy. Even with that I read 130 books total, 5 more than my goal of 125. I had a goal of 20,000 pages and I fell a little short with 14,910 pages. I don't count audio toward the page count if you're wondering how I came up short. According to my Goodreads Challenge year-end report (which does include audio in page count apparently) I read 46,073 pages, so I'm going to call it a win. I didn't set a numeric goal for my President's challenge, but I read 3 books toward the goal. All of which I enjoyed. Since that is a decade (at least) challenge, I'm calling that a win too.In conclusion, read a lot of good books and didn't stress about it. What could be better?
Great year, Michelle. I was wondering...130 books, 15,000 pages, something was wrong. But now I get it 🧐 Michelle wrote: "In conclusion, read a lot of good books and didn't stress about it. What could be better?."
Plus, you've added quite a few titles to our TBRs, and that's a win for all of us. Happy reading in 2023!

I have a spreadsheet of all the books that I want to read in January and I would need to read 2 books a day to achieve that! Obviously, that won't happen but having the list makes it easier to choose my next read. The variety I have on the list will give me many options no matter what my reading mood is. Good luck in 2023.

Yikes! Sorry about getting covid. Glad you’re recovering now. It took me a couple of weeks to truly feel better again. And I did almost no reading then. As for your year, 130 is quite impressive. Congrats! Looking forward to your reviews in 2023.

Thanks Lillie. I'm finishing my second week and improving, I think. Still tire easily and my brain seems to go on vacation every now and then. When I tested positive, my first thought was that I would get to read a lot but for some reason I haven't really been able to settle down to it. Hopefully that will improve too.

I hear you, 90% of my reading is audiobooks. If these would not count, I'd probably read less than 5 books/year.
