Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments Canadian author Linwood Barclay puts so many turns into the final chapters of his latest stand-alone, Take Your Breath Away (published 2nd Feb) that it might do to pre-book a chiropractic appointment. This is hard-to-put-down intrigue, laced with deliciously dark humour, from a master of the genre.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments The audio versions of the Bony books by Aussie author, Arthur W. Upfield all come with a disclaimer about language and attitudes expressed being those common in the 1930s. It certainly gives this historical crime fiction an authentic feel. Peter Hosking's rendition of The Widows of Broome rates 5★s

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments I always feel privileged to get an early read of Aussie author Emma Viskic's books, and I can assure fans of her Caleb Zelic series that the fourth book, Those Who Perish (published 3rd March) is probably her best yet.

Anita | 57 comments Aoife Clifford's latest Aussie noir is enthralling. Crime thriller readers should add 'When We Fall' to their TBR pile.
