Andrea | 2164 comments Grown Ups is a very contemporary story complicated by the timeless difficulties of sibling rivalry. I'd hoped it might be a bit like a Sally-Rooney-ish story of modern Norway, and in some ways it was, but overall not something to get excited about.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I didn't really like Ania Bas's protagonist in her debut novel Odd Hours at first, but she had redeemed herself 5 ★s worth by the end of the story.

The cover points us in a different direction but the story is worth a go. Brilliant for a debut work. Dystopian, atmospheric, somewhat slow.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments I was surprised to learn I was a bit mistaken about the significance of the actual date, June 19. The Juneteenth Story: Celebrating the End of Slavery in the United States by Alliah L. Agostini set me straight in this well-illustrated book for kids (and ignorant grown-ups like me).
