Sarah | 1543 comments Here are my review of both the written and audiobook formats of A Spoonful Of Murder by J.M. Hall. It's in most respects a cosy mystery, but explores some very important contemporary social themes around financial abuse of the elderly and those suffering from dementia. A great read!

Sarah | 1543 comments And here's my review of an excerpt from a new Audiobook edition of Agatha Christie's classic mystery Death on the Nile, released to tie in with the release of the 2022 film adaptation of the book. The audiobook is narrated by Kenneth Branagh, who both directs and plays lead character Hercule Poirot in the film.

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments I imagine all readers are aware of who Nelson Mandela is, but for the future generations of children, this is a welcome addition to the Little People BIG DREAMS series by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara. This boy moved from a traditional childhood in an old culture to become a champion for freedom and a world leader.
Nelson Mandela by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara 4.5★ My review of Nelson Mandela

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments The Islands is an unusual, interesting debut by Aussie author Emily Brugman about Finns who migrated to the heat of Western Australia and became seasonal cray fishers. First generation traditional - second in hotpants at beach BBQs.
The Islands by Emily Brugman 4.5~5★ My review of The Islands

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments From those I've read so far, it seems to me that any novel that lists Catherine Ryan Hyde as the author will be a guaranteed feel-good read. Dreaming of Flight is a heart-warming, uplifting coming-of-age story.
