However, I'm in my fist editing round of 'Signed in Blood'. So technically speaking, I'm reading that as well. LOL!
Check out the prequel here if you're interested: https://www.hashblackauthor.com/signe...

i've liked what i've read so far! this is my first john langan collection, but i loved the fisherman by him. i'm hoping to catch a similar feel from some of these stories.

it's really good so far! i'm only about 30% into it, but the set up has been great, and the tension is already palpable.

What an amazing story "House on the Borderland" is. There are images in it that I don't think I'll ever get out of my mind.

Brent Butt (brentbutt) | 1 comments Currently reading Peter Straub's GHOST STORY. I remember the trailer for the movie adaptation coming on TV when I was a kid and it scaring the hell out of me. Still haven't seen the movie, but 40 or so years later I cracked the novel. Almost finished it now (...and it was worth the wait!) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

I read it when it was first published and thought it the best horror novel/ghost story I'd read since The Haunting of Hill House. I should reread it.

As for the movie, sure, watch it, but it doesn't do justice to the book. Which is too bad because the older actors put in good performances -- the last for Douglas and Astaire -- though the movie is stolen by Alice Krige. By rights, it should have been a star vehicle for her.

That's one of my all time favorites, Brent! glad to hear that you're enjoying it. You might also like Shadowland if you haven't read that one yet.

Krige was so damn creepy in that movie. I agree too that the movie really didn't do the book justice.

Der goldene Handschuh by Heinz Strunk

Novel about the low-life and misadventures of German serial killer Fritz Honka. The movie The Golden Glove was based upon the book. It is my first contact with author Heinz Strunk, who usually seems to write in the comedy/humor/satire sector.
