I love this list! I always appreciate books that are not set in the U.S. Things In Jars has been sitting on my shelf since it came out and I have my eye on another of the authors title. Time to probably bump those up on my "to read" list.

Karolyn | 271 comments For a reverse do we need to read the same edition as another player? And if someone has listened to the audio book can we read it and have that count?

message 54: by Denise (new)

Denise Lauron (dlauron) | 271 comments I'm not ignoring all of you. School starts today and I've been busy getting ready. I'll be reading and posting as needed.

Edition doesn't matter, or if it's audio or physical. It's still the same book. Just as long as it's listed on that book's alternate editions list then it works.

No worries Denise. As long as you check in occasionally. But, I entirely understand being busy with school.

Ooo, tough question because they're both excellent. I think it depends on your mood. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is a nice mystery and it's more on the fun side. Where as Winter Counts is serious, and less about the mystery but more about the emotional character development and it's sort of bleak in some places.

L (readsbyl) | 5 comments Hello!

I’m Lelani, it’s my first time playing (so please send me all the help😅) and I’m super excited to get stuck in!

My fave genres are…anything? Honestly it’s a big ol mix on my shelves!

My all time fave is most definitely The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I read ACOTAR recently too, that’s most definitely up there. See? Completely different!

I’ve read all the rules etc, still a lil confused tbh! But I’ll get to the hang of it soon I’m sure 🥰

It’s going to be lovely playing amongst you all! X

Update: Apologies, I should check the captain's chat first haha. Welcome Lelani!

message 62: by Karolyn (new)

Karolyn | 271 comments Welcome Lelani! It’s my first UNO as well, so we can learn together (and hopefully not test our captains patience too much).

I got The Tattooist of Auschwitz from the library today. I had meant to read it as part of a challenge a year or so ago and couldn’t get the library copy in time. So now I just need enough self control to not start it for a week!

Sara Hollingsworth | 643 comments L wrote: "Thank you all for welcoming me! Is there anything I need to do to start?x"

We have working spreadsheet.

This is the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Take a look at the examples from us, and select one or two cards that you'd like to claim if you know what you plan to read in February. You don't necessarily have to preselect if you're not the type to plan out your reads. But still take a look so you can see how the worksheet is being filled out. There is also a tab in the spreadsheet that lists the cards and what books can work to fill each card, so feel free to use that for review.

Kylie Standley | 83 comments Hello!

My name is Kylie and I am excited to start this challenge! This is my first time playing UNO and participating in a challenge on GoodReads, and I can't wait to get started.

I enjoy all genres and am never opposed to trying something new All The Bright Places is one of my all-time favorite books, and I would recommend it to anyone (check tw)!

I have not read Rebecca but would definitely be interested!

Can't wait to win with ya'll ;)

Stephanie (stephreadsnnc) | 183 comments Hi team!!! This is my 5th year of UNO!

My name is Stephanie, I am from a small town in North Carolina. I recently moved, like last week moved, to a new home in the neighboring town called Wentworth. I am married and still very much in love with my high school sweetheart, we have a 14 year old son and a 12 year old daughter who are my greatest blessings. I am currently a homemaker and use my artistic abilities to make others smile. I adore and idolize everything Tim Burton puts out for the world to see since the year 1993.
I have a wide range of books that I read, primarily I tend to read along the lines of Urban Legend, Paranormal & Fantasy themed books. I've recently been on a Stephen King kick since reading ACOTAR none of these other books cannot seem to be as good as that series. I recently started the first book of the Zodiac Academy series and I have high hopes for them.
I am excited to have made it onto a team for this years UNO, I did not think I would able to participate at all with moving but things seem to fall into place fairly quickly. I look forward to reading and working with you all for a successful game!

I've almost finished all my January books so I can have a clean sheet. A few more chapters tonight. My previous big challenge ended in November. Now for Dec and Jan I've been reading all the non-fiction since they're rarely great for challenges, including UNO. Now I'm ready for some fiction :)

message 89: by Sara (new)

Sara Hollingsworth | 643 comments Angela wrote: "Anyone else scrambling to get books done? :)"

I definitely am, haha. I'm trying to burn through several books today. While also working most of the day. It may be pretty close to impossible.

message 90: by Angela (new)

Angela | 655 comments I feel the same Sara. I sometimes miss the days in which I could get some reading done during the day.

I bet you are ready Narsku! I usually can only do non-fiction on audio.

Remember, books that you want to count for the challenge need to be started when the challenge starts. So check the countdown clock.

Angela | 655 comments Rewind by Catherine Ryan Howard Does this look red enough to use for the 6 red?

message 94: by Karolyn (new)

Karolyn | 271 comments I'm trying to finish Sea of Glory: America's Voyage of Discovery, the U.S. Exploring Expedition, 1838-1842 before we start... but it's not going to get done tonight.

We have a winter storm coming in tomorrow night and are supposed to get a bunch of snow and maybe some ice Wednesday and Thursday (not common for here) - so I should have some good reading time the next few days!

I took it to the Captains and the collective agreement is that it's not red enough to use for 6 red.
