What did you think of it? It's got mixed reviews among my friends.

It was okay. Some of the dialog made me laugh. It definitely seems the main character and one other character is autistic. So some very straight forward, no censored dialog happens between these two characters. Having a teenager that is autistic I can well recognize that matter of fact style conversation.

I should probably give it a chance then. Some of the people living in the care home where I work are autistic too. I am always interested in how they are portrayed in literature.

Only 5 Yellow is left of the color cards. All WD4's done.
Only one 5 and one 7 to go, and just two reverse.
If we keep going like this we'll get bored until the mini comes, hahaha. Well done 😁.

Well, I have one on my to read list, if you (or someone else) find an 8 Red which is easier, I'll use my 8 Red for a Reverse and read the 5 Yellow next.

So I will use my book for a Reverse, which leave us with one more left. Then we can focus on 9's, 1's and 4's.

Check it out and let me know if you have any questions.
Some important points:
- Cat #1: We can repeat colors for all subcategories (covers, text, word). And since we want to maximize the amount of points we get, we probably need to focus on whole covers. But all qualifying books should be located in the mini.
- Cat #2: more than one member can use the same book.
- Cat #3: we can repeat countries.
- Cat#4: In the main challenge we can change cards 2, 6 and skip for W, X, and Q respectively. In the mini we will reference the hand in which we made the swap. In this case Skip's will give us the most points. We only have one color card that qualifies, a 2 Blue. Which means a 2(W) Blue.

Hopefully should finish 2-3 by March 16

I added three books. Two for the first category - Paint the Walls and 1 for the category - Hang some Paintings.
I hope that helps. I'm not very clear on how the last category works exactly. However, if I add any books to the main March Spreadsheet that can be used for that "Swap some Flower cuttings" category please let me know.

Yeah, #4 could be little bit confusing, but it's just that instead of looking for T's, S's and K&P's (for 2, 6 and skip) we have to look for W's, X's, and Q's respectively, and put those in the main challenge in the corresponding card, and in the mini write in "reason" the hand where we did the swap. We almost finished all our skip cards, but those are the ones that will give us the most points, so I'll be moving them around so I can make room for the new books that qualify as they come. So I hope we can find as many Q's as possible.

Okay I wrote in the color card area what the books could be used for in the mini, I hope I did it right. If you could check and correct me if I filled in something incorrectly I would appreciate it. I like to know if I did something incorrect so I can learn from it. Thanks! : )

Just one question, when you write X,W,Q it means it qualifies for all of them or is a reference to the category?

Absolutely. Just remember the books for the mini have to be finished after March 15th.

It means it could qualify for any of those letters. I guess it doesn't need to be in the color card column though? I did list them in the regular columns for the number cards that they qualify for.
I hope I'm making sense...lol

It's ok, it's just good to know for which letter exactly so I put them in the right card and get the corresponding points. But no worries. If I have a question on an specific book I'll ask.
Sometimes I move things around and it's good to know all the options available. For example if we have too many of the covers but not of the swaps, maybe i'll move some books of category if they fit.
EDITED
Could be a good idea to write it like in the other columns, like Quentin character, Xanadu place, etc.

Okay I think I need to correct the spreadsheet. I didn't realize they had to have W, X or Q in it. I thought if it had a T,S, K or P it qualified for those. I understand now though. Thank you for helping me to understand better.

- Covers, text in cover or word of the color, preferably covers:
Orange
Purple
Pink
Black
White
Brown
Grey
- Covers with classical or fantasy paintings, not themes, paintings.
- Books set in countries other than Canada, USA, England, Australia and New Zealand.
- Books with W, X and Q for title, author, places, characters, etc. Preferably Q's.
EDIT
We need at least 10 of each. And we can add another 5 books in more than one category of our choosing. The extras that will give us the most points are the Q's.
For the mood readers, we will locate all books where they qualify, regardless of points, just try to find any that fits. At the end the important thing is to finish the mini. The maximization of points comes second.

Okay, Just to confirm. I think the cover of this book could be a classical painting. Do you agree?

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. It looks like a photo not a painting, and I've been seeing covers like this surveyed on captains group and are rejected.

Okay, I'll update the spreadsheet. I can be used for the location of France for the Mini instead.

We've official started the March mini challenge.
In category #4 on the mini tab, you don't need to select the hand with the swap column, I'll be doing that. It seems this month will be heavy on the moving around cards thing 😓. But it could be fun 😁.
Jojo I put your book "We Are Okay" in that category because of the title. In this case it was obvious but for books with names and places within the book please team don't forget to write the reason in the color column for me to write it on the main tab.
As for everything else, we are a little behind in 4's and 9's. So remember to log all cards your books fit in, not just for the mini.

One of the books I'm currently reading that works for the mini, also works for a 9. I'm sure we can smash those out ;)

Thank you for the update and catching that about the book, We Are Okay!

I think yes.

We are doing great. Finally I finished the last color card.
+++UPDATE+++
Mini:
Cover colors: 6 left
Paintings: 7 left
Countries: 8 left
Swaps: 5 left
Kira, I moved the book with the gothic cover to a grey cover, since I wasn't sure it will qualify as classical.
Melanie and Jojo, your books had white letters, so I put them in the cat#1. Although we prefer whole covers, this also counts.
Corina your book ended up in the painting category, we have less of them. But it's good to know in which ones could it go, in case we need to rearrange.
As for the main challenge, we are on track. We are at 65% at mid month which is great. No hard cards left, maybe just the issue with the skip's waiting to be swapped into Q's. In case we can't reach the goal, I'll just have to move some cards to fill the skips.

All good, I will add the books to all the categories they match just in case we need to swap. Will try and finish a couple more this weekend :)

I think yes."
Great, thanks. I'll add it to the tab.

Not sure if I will get to them, but just in case, figured I'd ask :)

The first one yes, second one no.

I'm moving slower on my completing my print book because I've been sick since Friday. It makes it hard to focus for long periods of time.
