A male teen living with his mother and disabled but sensorily enhanced sister encounters a man with one or both eyes removed in the Australian bush, possibly Tasmania. He has travelled from the present into the near future, a future in which environmentally friendly technologies dominate. The teen flies a solar powered glider and helps the man to work out what has happened to him. The sister is somehow involved in solving the mystery. The mother researches sense perception and enhancement.
