StardustReader (infinitythoughts) | 2662 comments why is there so little research on Endometriosis?
Is it because that people think that people just need to bear the pain because it's menstruation?
Endometriosis is a disease of the female reproductive system in which cells similar to those in the endometrium, the layer of tissue that normally covers the inside of the uterus, grow outside the uterus. Most often this is on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and tissue around the uterus and ovaries; however, in rare cases it may also occur in other parts of the body.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endomet...

I was also reading somewhere that the reason why there's so little research on this subject, is because people don't talk about menstruation.

I highly recommend everyone listen to this episode, about people sharing their experiences with Endometriosis

yeah, i've kind of read about this disease earlier.
and you're right, there's very little awareness about menstruation and knowledge regarding diseases that are related to that is another thing, people barely have awareness on either of these topics.

yeahh, the situation's better now but the pace of change is very slow. i've had 3 or 4 sex-ed workshops in my school, but still, not all schools have had that many, or they either didn't even have one.
during my sister's time (which was 9 years ago), forget having sex-ed workshops or any other type of awareness, they didn't even give a single thought about it. they literally used to whisper about menstruation and other topics which ik happens even now but it was much worse at that point of time
