Kidding. It's just practice I reckon.

Yeah.
phew. I finally figured out how to disable all notifications for all the groups, and enable for only those discussions that I participate in.My notification center seems so clutter free now.

H O W
TEACH ME YOUR WAYS
I AM TIRED OF WAKING UP TO 50+ NOTIFS
Sure why not.Remember, you'll have to enable notifications for every group discussion that you comment/ want notification for.
So open Goodreads (the desktop version),
click on your profile, and go to "Account settings".
there, activate the 'Emails' link.
scroll down until you find the "Group Email Preferences", there you'll have to check the box for "none" for all the groups that you are a member of.
Optionally, you can check the box that says "When I leave comments on other items, follow discussions by default.".
Then activate the button that says "Save email settings". You're done.
If you want to enable notifications for a particular discussion in a group: open that discussion, scroll down to the part where you enter your comment, above that you'll find a link that says "Notify me when people comment" once you activate it, you'll start receiving emails. Yeah, IDK why it selects the notification type as email by default. If you only want to receive notifications, and no emails, you'll see the "You are following this discussion (instant email). Edit" at the same place where you enabled the notifications. Activate the link that says "edit" over there, and select " Notification Only - No emails. Get a notification on your homepage on when people reply.". It's done.
Hope that helps.

I think you will get an email if you don't change that to "notifications".
Honestly, I advice you not to keep it at emails. It's very bothersome.
Also, the best part of disabling notifications for the groups, is now I can enable notifications for the app on my phone.I used to be bombarded with a lot of notifs, so I had disabled all notifications on my phone.

It's alright. Your friendship is enough for me. ☺️
Yeah, IT is too hyped up. Also, it's not like people imagine it to be.
ofc ofc but what is IT??? coding and stuff? computer repair? i'm so confused
i just want to be a pickpocket ykwim?
Why on earth is DuckDuckGo showing me the different compatible personalities for INTP?I just searched for "Why is the INTP personality misunderstood so much".
oooh you use duckduckgoi use ecosia (for every 42 searches, it'll plant a tree!!) and i have tab for a cause (a few ads on your chrome homepage, and the money from those ads you can donate to a charity of your choosing)
hmm youre right INTP is misunderstood
swara (dont regret it one bit bc he had it coming) wrote: "ofc ofc but what is IT??? coding and stuff? computer repair? i'm so confused

IT has many parts actually. The coding part, consultant part and all those different ones. I don't think it's computer repair in a hardware sense. Yuck, I hate that part. We IT folks do just the software part.
haha like Kaz Brekker?
yes ofc, like kaz brekker! and the education system has already killed my brain cells so a pickpocket is the perfect jobno ofc im joking i'm on the career path to be a foreign diplomat and other cool shit :o and im doing a 4-year internship/study starting next year at a law firm so that should be exciting :D

Yeah! Wow really? I'll have to check that out. Is it good with the search results? Also do they keep track of your search results?
because if that's the case, I'm never going to use that engine. That's the reason I don't use Google. We already have so much of our data with that company.

:D
Dude that sounds AMAAAAAAZING!
all the best with your endeavors!
well your search engine isnt the one that keeps track of your search results, it's your browser app (safari, chrome) ohh wait i get what you mean
they dont track your search results but depending on if you have safari or chrome, the actual browser may

Ah that's just it. Well, no worries, I have my trustee privacy focused browser *drums* The Brave Browser. Blocks ads on all sites you visit (including YouTube), stops sites from tracking you, you can earn BATS for seeing ads and those BATS you can give it to your favorite creator.
oh my goddd that's so cooli'll have to check that out!!
oof it won't have the chrome extensions though
swara (dont regret it one bit bc he had it coming) wrote: "oooh yeahthe only difference is i do not possess a coherent thinking process (bc i'm a J and not P)"

It'll have all the Chrome extensions and everything else Chrome offers.
It's based on Chromium, so everything works essentially like Chrome.
Just with these added advantages.
I use Brave all the time. ON my laptop and on my phone.
