Kelvin Kuan | 4 comments Can you help name the book where a small trainee (Smallest in his class) is chosen to be part of a trial class where they wanted to experiment to see if it takes more than size and pedigree to excel?

The trainee trains everyday but to become better, he has to close his eyes to travel to another dimension to battle demons to improve. He die every night but returns every night to put in extra training that will make his the bets amongst his class and he could even scores with his bullies who are a superior caste/race. He wields dual swords and the ending is some army attacking his academy that ends in a cliff hanger.

I think its written about 2018 onwards? I maybe wrong.

Kelvin, is this book for kids, teens or adults?

Does he live in the real world (Earth) or a fantasy world (separate from the demon dimension)? Who are his parents?

Around what year did you read this book?

Kelvin Kuan | 4 comments Hi Kris, thanks for replying!

I believe its for adults.

He lives in the real world (earth) but there seems to be a way for the people to close their eyes and then materialise in another dimension where there are demons.

He trains like mad during the waking hours but realizes he can never improve as much as his peers has the same amount of hours to train as him. So he takes the risky way and kills demons on another dimension but no time passes in the real world, thus able to surpass all his classmates.

I believe he wields double swords?

There's a scene where he had to fight a big guy to get into the academy but he lost, but the trainer decided to enrol him as he shows heart.

I read it in 2018, but it may have been published before that. It was only book 1, I for my life cannot remember the title as my kindle was washed clean and all my books were gone.

David Añez | 418 comments Hi! Is the dual wielding normal for this setting or he doing it is exceptional? Does he has difficulties doing it?

The demon traveling technique is also normal or something only he can do? Or maybe it is so dangerous/forbidden somehow that others don't do it?

Kelvin Kuan | 4 comments Hi david!

It seems that he started out as the weakest but over the course of the book 1 he became the best. In fact when they are pitted against the higher caste if students, they managed to captured the flag thanks to his sword skills. So he became exceptional.

This parallel dimension can be done by anyone, but are forbidden to do so because it destroys the mind. Only a trained person can enter and reap the rewards, and one of those person is his female friend.

I remember that whenever he loses a fight, he says he must train more!

Chris (dethkali) | 7 comments I found a post on Reddit looking for the same book. It didn't have the name of the book but when I commented on the post, the original poster (which I'm assuming was you) let me know they had found the title.
The name of the book is Rage of Dragons by Evan Winters. I started reading it last night and it's definitely the book.
