I read Howl's Moving Castle back when I heard that Studio Ghibli was turning it into a movie, which turned out to be a bad move on my part, because there were a lot of scenes I was excited to see animated, and then it turned out that only the first third of the book was adapted and the rest was Miyazaki taking the story in his own direction. Still a good movie, but I really wanted to see the duel between Howl and the Witch of the Waste animated in Ghibli-level quality. Ah well.

Does non-fiction count? I'm currently reading How to Change Your Mind by Michael Pollan and loving it so far
