Plot Details: A boy recieves a wooden box for his birthday, and has to find a ton of keys to open it. He has a best friend who helps him out named Lizzie, and shes a kleptomaniac. Shes constantly stealing things. Jeremy's little quirk is that hes obsessed with "mutant candy", pieces of candy that came out wrong somehow, like a red and orange piece of cherry starburst, or a mishappen mnm.
2. I must have read this book in elementary school, and I am 20 years old.
I also remember what the cover looks like. It was white, with bunch of keeys danging from strings.
