I distinctly remember reading a book similar to the plot of the kid who would be king. It’s a young person I believe a boy who finds out he’s either a descendent of someone important or has some special powers and is the only one that can stop the world from a great war led by some big bad. I think I read this book within the last 10 years. As with most of these types of stories I believe there is a mentor. I am sure it takes place in the real world during modern time. I vaguely remember a car chase or a crash where maybe the mentor dies.
