15.3. Is it Live or is it Memorex?

Option 1.
A. April 11 is Barbershop Quartet Day. In honor of Barbershop and Beautyshop quartets, read a book with 4 words in the title/subtitle. Subtitles may be used or ignored for this task. AND

B. April 11 is also Eight Track Tape Day. Since 8 tracks were popular from the mid 1960s to the late 1970s, read a book first published between 1965 and 1979 (inclusive).

OR

Option 2
Read one book that satisfies both A and B.

That's right - every word in the title counts.

You make me feel very old....................... I think I may have read this book when it first came out (but I'm not a grandmother yet, LOL!)

message 20: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 1295 comments No don't feel old! My grandmother wasn't a young girl when she read it. She actually just passed (in her 80s). She just really enjoyed it and she took her name for the grandkids to call her (Grandy) from this book. Very cool that it came up in this context and just right after her passing as I had meant to read it and had forgotten.

LOL! I actually quite enjoy the age I am (although I am looking forward to perhaps achieving grandmother status one of these days)!

You can't ignore the "A" - all words in the title count.

Sorry, the hyphenated word is counted as 1 word, so it messes you up here.

The publication date fits the requirements for B, so it would work for one of the books for the task.

Sarah (shiraloo) | 240 comments So, A Contract With God meets both criteria EXCEPT the original title of the book from 1978 has a subtitle of "and other tenement stories". I know in the description it says that subtitles can be ignored, but I just want to verify that this original title doesn't mess up the word count.

Actually, the original title includes the further words as part of the title - it's not a subtitle. However, you should use the title of the book that you actually read, so this one would work.
