Kate | 3 comments I read this book a couple years in a row as a child - checked in out of the library. From what I can remember it was about a girl being sick and having to be admitted to the hospital/having a surgery. Would have been published in the 1980s. Hard cover book was blue Thanks!

Time period/location story takes place?
Part of a series?
Remember anything about the girl's family, friends, doctors, etc?

Jaki | 1 comments Could it be Just Like Always by Elizabeth Ann Sachs? Two girls form a friendship in the hospital. They are both there to have surgery for scoliosis. One of them is more rebellious, one more reserved.

Kate | 3 comments Neither of those suggestions look like it. I feel like the illness was something she could have surgery to fix. I will put the age of the main character between 8-12? I could be totally reaching but feel like the work "afraid" might have been in the title?
