He knows he will kill Davian 2000 years in the past, but I still cannot figure out how Davian will get there. Alaris did not agree to let him go and now he is trapped in the Wells, so how is he going to get rescued? I hope it didn't hurt too much when Caeden hit bottom and I wonder where he will be when we hear from him next. (hide spoiler)]

I can’t read your spoilers on my iPod. I had to remove the GR mobile app from my tablet because I was running out of memory space and it is not upgradable. I have to log onto my laptop to read spoilers.

More on Ch 7/8(view spoiler)[ Now we know why there were always 13 Augurs because Alchesh took the 13 strands into himself at the Forge. How did they get separated into 12 other bodies? I can’t quite get my head around that though. Hopefully we will find out. Is the golden winged amulet at the Forge the same one that was used on Rohin, that Scyner has? (That is why I think that is who found Caeden on the rock.). Cyr sounds like an interesting guy. I hope we get to meet him and he is ok after being in the Tributary after 2K+ years. (hide spoiler)]

Ask me any question and I'll respond, "I don't know, haven't a clue, and I'm not sure I care." I really wish I hadn't bought all 3 books in the series because I feel obligated to read them all. If I had bought just the first one, I wouldn't have continued. The world is so complicated and convoluted. I could study it all and figure it out, but I'm not that into it. I'm really not keen on working this hard to read a story. At this point, I'm reading just to finish the book.

Chapter 11 - 15

I had to laugh when Caeden went into Asha's tributary and was attacked. He deserved it. Will she be ready for whats-her-face?

I finished ch 1-2 (view spoiler)[ I hated how rushed the meeting was right there at the end of ch 2. They just spilled a bunch of juicy stuff and then had no time to discuss! It sheds some light on stuff that has gone before. Even with the recap - I am still a bit on the lost side - but that seems to be par for the course for these books. Chapter 16-21

I'm glad that Asha is going to be released from the tributary. And it's interesting that Caeden has bonded himself to an oath that he would end his own life when the Venerate are all dead.

I think it is the complexity of the story that keeps me at it, Janice. Reading it gives me a chance to go back and reread something, even when I cannot figure it out, exactly.

I know that I am still missing things. I just cannot see the whole of all that is happening. I I am not sure that I am supposed to though and - that also makes me keep at it.

I just finished chapter 23. I was off work today and spent the whole time reading. I wasted the day yesterday watching Stargate SG-1 reruns on Netflix with my granddaughter. Voyager is not available to us.

It seems that some new things introduced in this book are NOT in the Glossary although Shalis is there, but nothing about a Forge. Ordan is mentioned as the creature who trained Tal'kamar to use Essence. (hide spoiler)]

Asha (view spoiler)[ the dok'en dreamworld is the place Caeden created for himself for his mind to go, when he was to enter the tributary. It is supposed to be users' "happy place" to keep their mind off of the terrible pain their body is in. Is's dok'en failed and that is why she went crazy. It was never explained why, but I suspect that it was not robust enough to last 2 thousand years. The only thing that is not explained is the Shift. Is it the machine turing the body? He created the dok'en. He created Elli - and yes, my question was answered. Elli is the memory of his wife. I think he was surprised at being attacked and just caught off guard seeing Elli (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 20 (view spoiler)[I think it is interesting that the dok'en environment allows for things to change. Asha can work with Elli to train her mind and body to get stronger and quicker and learn how to manipulate essence and Caeden's initial input of Elli can change and learn new things. Caeden can only know those things from talking to Elli - it is not a direct memory. There is a lot in this chapter being talked about. While I am writing, I feel like I need to go back and read it - maybe all of it. (hide spoiler)] I am going back although it kills me. I want to go faster than my head can keep up with.

I usually use my home commute to listen to this book. but by the time I get home, work out, eat dinner and sit down at my computer I have lost a lot of what I listened to on the way home. It's ok though - I'll at least get some of it lol!

Chapter 6 (view spoiler)[ I think the Venerate must have used Davian’s link with Caeden (when he read Malassh’s mind) to get into the dok’en. They had hem for a year, to study him. What I don’t understand is why they want Asha to stay in the Tributary. As long as she is there, the boundary stays up. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 7 (view spoiler)[the dream. Alchesh seems like a nice guy. Interesting that Tal/Caeden thought that the barrier would only be needed for ten years. Cyr could get out IF he wanted to???? They are at seven years after Tal killed Davian in Deilannis, before the boundary goes up that Tal is taking Alchesh to the Forge to see if they can find some kind of proof that they could not go back and what, start over? Interesting that Tal has “saved” people that they had been fighting against time often time. He really is a confusing guy. All the Venerate know about Davian and that Tal kills him and yet they are still fighting after 2K years! They were close to the end?? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 8 (view spoiler)[Scyner is definitely helping Tal/Caeden. What I do not quite get from the previous chapters, is when did the Jah’vett get destroyed? In this dream/memory, they are still fighting the Darcians, right? Or were the Venerate fighting among themselves and the Darcians had already built the stupid thing and Tal blew it up? Well, we know where the Dar’gaithi n came from (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 8(view spoiler)[ The Venerate are immortal because of their link to the Forge, regardless of how it was done. The Shalis were too but they were killed??? Somehow their renewal was different than the Venerate’s. The Severs were their link and destroying it kept them from returning. They thought that the Darklands was a “between” space between their living existence and a “better” place. That is what I gotta out of it anyway. Alchesh took 13 strands. Must be why there are always 13 Augurs somehow. After he died, 13 new Augurs were “made” in new bodies. Hmmm. (hide spoiler)]

This is one of the things that really bothers me about this series, is the way it jumps to different time periods without warning. (hide spoiler)]
