I read this maybe around 2010. The earth has undergone some apocalypse, and people had thought to keep these human embryos in labs to constantly reawaken and raise them until humans could rehabilitate the earth. After the girl is mostly raised something happens that causes her to need to leave her underground lab early, I don’t know if she was even aware of the larger world above her. She then learns to survive on her own, makes friends with different creatures, discovers cool non-human societies. I remember her hair was full of beautiful braids and she cut one off to give as a gift, she also had a cloak that constantly measured her vitals. I believe toward the end she met another girl that was a clone of herself (?).
