I notice these coincidences because I've been looking for updates all day long and posted one that's still on hold. Yes, I know I spend too long nerding in goodreads LOL, but it helps me notice right away the weird things. Weird things happens all the time to awesometacular authors.Edit: Updates were on hold late into the evening, a text update by other user took more than 2 hours to go live, but this morning there was no delay.
I just verified this. You're right. After clicking on the book through your poll, it sent me straight to the Beta Version, even though I was never offered to test it before.

Not two minutes ago I checked on
and it showed on Beta mode.

The updates are on hold which means the buzz dies a little. This coincidence happened when War, too. I didn't read Famine on release date so of that one I can't be sure.
And also I tried to look up death without in anonymous mode and it immediatly sent me to the beta design. The bet design hides, updates, listopia, discussions killing the hype. To get out of beta design and return to normal page you have to click the beta button, but it takes a while to change back.
Yes another coincidence that in no way proves that a few rotten apples in staff are partial to the big five. But they should at least disclose their conflict of interest, it's not like all authors and books are treated equally by the staff, they have their biases.
