Solved! My son read this book a few years ago as a middle schooler. It's about a boy whose older brother is terminally ill - but posts positive videos on a youtube channel. At the end of the book the brother has passed away - but created one last video to share. My son thinks the book had a very distinctive green cover.

This one that came up in a search is not an exact match but just in case! It might also be too recent (2018). Squint by Chad Morris.
The cover is green and there is a brother who is ill and posts inspirational videos on Youtube. However, he is not the main character's brother. The main character meets a girl at school and it's her brother who is terminally ill.
Ah! Mai - I think you're right! Thanks so much, it had been a while so we probably mixed up some of the details. :)
