Here's one of my favorite poems by Rilke :)
You who never arrived
in my arms, Beloved, who were lost
from the start,
I don't even know what songs
would please you. I have given up trying
to recognize you in the surging wave of the next
moment. All the immense
images in me— the far-off, deeply-felt landscape,
cities, towers, and bridges, and unsuspected
turns in the path,
and those powerful lands that were once
pulsing with the life of the gods-
all rise within me to mean
you, who forever elude me.
You, Beloved, who are all
the gardens I have ever gazed at,
longing. An open window
in a country house—, and you almost
stepped out, pensive, to meet me.
Streets that I chanced upon,—
you had just walked down them and vanished.
And sometimes, in a shop, the mirrors
were still dizzy with your presence and, startled,
gave back my too-sudden image. Who knows?
perhaps the same bird echoed through both of us
yesterday, separate, in the evening…

(Yes, I am!)
@Ellie. I am having trouble too. I have to reverse the direction of the posts, then I can see the new ones.
Could we have surpassed the point where Pinterest can't keep up with how many messages there are on this thread? :OO
So…I had a strange dream the other day. I dreamt that I went to my sister’s bedroom and found a hunchback whale in a kiddy pool inside of her room! The whale was the size of a pillow pet and it was alive. She was in the room and as soon as I noticed the whale she looked startled. I said to her confusedly “umm…. how long have you had…this… umm….whale(?)” in response she said “about 5 years.” I then sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose. I then said “we have to return him, you know.” She then said “do you think I’ll get in trouble?”
For some reason I went outside and put my laptop on the trunk of a car and went to a zoo’s website. On the website was a ‘missing pygmy whale’ page. I then called the zoo and said “I think I know where your whale is, but you have to promise there will be no negative repercussions.”
I need Freud to help me make sense of this dream 😂

oh, my gosh, you're right! I should start one. you may join. who you wanna be? I call Neil, because, you know, I am extremely likable and smart, and a theatre nerd, and to be completely honest, I totally would be the one to start a semi illegal poetry reading club, XD)
