This yearish (ending 2022), I am going to try to plow through as many as I can, adding them to challenges, pushing book groups to choose them (if I can!). I'm going to list those titles here in a consolidated list and will try knock out as many as possible (most definitely not all). Why, I've even finished a few already, since I put up this list! Ideally, I will choose at 5 from each of these self-inflicted categories:
Sources are varied: "word of mouth," newspaper or magazine. Some of the "mouth's" have been teachers, professors, and college syllabi, sadly never finished ... or begun!
What's I've finished so far (reasons for choices in parentheses):
10/101+
1.When We Believed in Mermaids (Nov 2021)(book group) (TBR)
2.The Shadow Hero Omnibus (Nov 2021) (TBR) (Diversity, YA graphic novel)
3.Before I Let Go (Nov 2021) (Diversity)
4.Relish: My Life in the Kitchen (Dec 2021) (TBR, YA graphic novel)
5.On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous (Dec 2021) (book group) (Diversity, history, LitFic)
6. Half Broke (Nov 2021) (book group)
7. They Called Us Enemy (TBR, Diversity, YA graphic novel, history)
8. Displacement (Nov 2021) (Diversity, YA graphic novel, history)
9. WE HEREBY REFUSE: Japanese American Resistance to Wartime Incarceration (Dec 2021) (Diversity, YA graphic novel, history)
10. The Cellist of Sarajevo (Dec 2021) (TwinRead) (TBR, history, LitFic)
11. Ghostwritten (Jan 2022) (TwinRead) (TBR, LitFic)
12. Fangirl (Dec 2021) (YA fic, TBR)
13.

*The above 22 books are from Literary Hub's 22 Novels You Need to Read This Fall, published 8/31/2021. They all look very intriguing.
*Because of LH list, I feel compelled (for a variety of reasons ... one being this particular title has been on my list a l-o-n-g time) to also include the following books:
books fitting the description of "must-read" being read/about to be read for book groups:
graphic and/or YA novels recommended and/or reviewed by librarians, NYT, Kirkus, NPR, LJ, etc.:
other must read or well-reviewed titles:
works of fiction:
works of nonfiction:
