Wow, that was quite gory.
I watched the anime quite some time ago, but didn't remember it being that gory.

The original was indeed a bit on the gory side like whenever Alucard fights...well basically anyone. Not sure if it was the original or the remake (which more closely followed the manga) but I recall he shot through Seras to get to a vampire holding her hostage and offers her a chance to (sorta) live by giving her a chance to become a vampire.
