The plot started out with a girl who had to transfer school often because weird things kept happening to her, like trash cans blowing up. It's at the newest school that she goes to she starts to learn about magic. She also has a twin brother that she didn't know about until she met him at the school, but he knew about her. They are part of a rebellion of the king. The rebels all have magical marks on them. I read this book between 2011-2015 and I bought it on the kindle.
