LINDA BOURG | 11 comments Hi Stephanie,

I was unable to read my pick it for me book for sept, since hurrican Ida came blazing through my hometown and destroyed everything, we don't even have a library anymore, the grocery store i work at was completely destroyed and they will be a whole year before rebuidling. My house had damage but i was a lucky one, it is livable with no water damage inside, roof is off on front end, and vinyl siding pulled off but all in all i am ok. We were without lights for a month and just 2 days ago got back internet. I will resume pick it for me in the new year. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on hooked on books. God Bless.

Elinaly,

Thanks for the picks! So far, I read the first two. Killer Cruise was good but I absolutely loved the Gingerbread book that you chose. I can't wait to read the last two books!

message 76: by Elinaly (new)

Elinaly hahaa, I read (listened to) the gingerbread book myself as well.
pretty funny!

message 77: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 2224 comments I just finished my third book. If any of you read and loved the Narnia books, then go out and grab Once Upon a Wardrobe by Patti Callahan . It is wonderful. I enjoyed all three picks. Perdido Street Station (New Crobuzon, #1) by China Miéville was deliciously weird, and The Christmas Pig by J.K. Rowling was enchanting.

Looking forward to what I get for next month!

message 78: by Melindam (new)

Melindam Jenny, I am so glad you enjoyed the books. :)

I also read The Christmas Pig with my son and it was a great experience.

Once upon a wardrobe will be my next audible purchase.

Happy Holidays!
