I am possibly cheating in this, but I'll be reading Wounded Magic for this as I am currently reading book 1, Ruthless Magic and earlier this year I read the prequel to the same series. I also might use the sequels to the Ink and Bone if I can't fit them elsewhere
Just a reminder, that you could read books by authors that also have nom de plumes. For example, I know Daniel Handler has his own books, but those written "by" Lemony Snicket. So if you read an author this year that you didn't particularly like the genre or style of, they may be still be eligible as someone else... kind of. Did that make sense? :)
I’m either going to pick between Gillian Flynn (read Gone Girl. looooooved it) or Kirsten Hannah (read the great alone. Also great read).
I read The Family Upstairs and The Last House Guest this year so I will probably read another book by Megan Miranda or Lisa Jewell because I enjoyed both books so much!
I read Circe by Madeline Miller earlier this year, so I'm going with The Song of Achilles :) Circe also works for the witch prompt, for anyone interested.
I'll probably read The Return .I've read nearly all of his books but I also want to branch out and find something new rather than something comfortable.
Okay on second thought this is tricky. I suppose I'll stick with another The Wheel of Time Series 1-15 Books Collection Set Pack (Book 1-14) By Robert Jordan since I've been reading book 1 already this year.
ooh a freebie category so many choicesMy shortlist:
Nona the Ninth (book 3 of the Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir)
Mister Impossible (book 2 of the Dreamer Trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater)
The Discord of Gods (book 5 of A Chorus of Dragons by Jenn Lyons)
The Bronzed Beasts (book 3 of the Gilded Wolves trilogy by Roshani Chokshi)
The Block (book 2 of the Loop trilogy by Ben Oliver)
I've just read Night by Elie Wiesel. I read A Jew Today by the same author for the Past, Present, Future prompt in ATY 2021. It is a powerful testament to the author's experiences in the Holocaust and must have been even more powerful when first published in 1958.
I read Razorblade Tears by S.A.Cosby for this prompt. I read Blacktop Wasteland in 2021. Both were 5 star reads for me.
Read Winter in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand for this since I read two of her previous books last year.
I plan to read The Grief of Stones by Katherine Addison, the forthcoming sequel to The Witness for the Dead which was itself a spinoff of The Goblin Emperor, which I love and reread every year.
I read 5 writers in 2021: Maggie Stiefvater, Yaa Gyasi, Susan Cooper, Rebecca Makkai, and Elizabeth Everett. Really could go for more from any of them (I didn't enjoy the Everett book that much, but if pressed for a quick read for this prompt I'd be willing to pick up another just for kicks).
Another I plan to read is Sea of Tranquility .I read 'Station Eleven' the week before January and Emily has a new book coming out in April which seems interesting.
I started Harlem Shuffle last night. Last spring, I read The Nickel Boys. I think Colson Whitehead is so good at making a realistic commentary on America through fiction.
What a great prompt! Any excuse to indulge in more Shari Lapena, so I read Not a Happy Family. Loved it! This book did not disappoint, Great twists and turns, and I loved the ending!

I read Murder on the Orient Express last year. This year I read And Then There Were None. I think I read this in one sitting. I was glued to the page. Bravo!

Heroes: Mortals and Monsters, Quests and Adventures by Stephen Fry. I had read Mythos: The Greek Myths Retold by him last year and enjoyed his irreverent engaging take on Greek mythology
I read Isn't It Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams. I wanted something sweet and fun, and this filled the brief.
The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn is a historical fiction based on the story of Lyudmila Pavlichencko, a Ulkrainian sniper known by the Russians as Lady Death for her part in fighting against the German invasion of her homeland in WW2. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review
I read Cilka's Journey{Cilka's Journey} for this prompt. Its about a girl Cilka who is in very harsh conditions in the 40s like a concentration camp and a gulag. She is a very brave girl who does what she can to survive . When I read the The Tattooist of Auschwitz, last year, I was immediately drawn to Cilka and I was so glad this book came out.
I read Chew, Vol. 2: International Flavor by John Layman for this prompt. I read Chew, Vol. 1: Taster's Choice last year for the 'a book based in a restaurant' prompt.
