it's definitely more along the lines, but it doesn't have this specific scene. I remember the truck was either fishtailing or coming off of the bridge. The mysterious savior pulls her out and they walk off. I believe they are pulling these kids out right before they are supposed to die.

I looked at it, and it is unfortunately not the book. The incident that was in my mind was a car crash. A semi truck falling off a bridge and crushing their car or crashing into them. I remember that specifically.

I was so hopeful because the title sounded like something I would read, but alas this is not it either. I am beginning to wonder if I am on a wild goose chase?
