01 - A Book Published in 2022

Firstly, what had been my most anticipated book of this year but got pushed back. Fingers crossed for this year! It's The Thin Man in space!
The Spare Man
Amari and the Great Game - Voted for Amari this year, looking forward to her next book
The Paradox Hotel - A locked-room murder mystery set at a hotel for time travelers. Sign. Me. Up.
The Fortune Men
Under Lock & Skeleton Key - New book from the author of the Jaya Jones books, which were so fun. Impossible crime story involving Secret Staircase Construction, who build hidden things in people's homes. Fun!
The Kaiju Preservation Society - a Scalzi premise is often a fun premise
The Cartographers - a highly imaginative thriller about a young woman who discovers a strange map in her deceased father’s belongings in his office in the NYPL
A Prayer for the Crown-Shy - next Monk & Robot book
Her Hidden Genius - Marie Benedict's next real woman novelization subject is Rosalind Franklin!
Sea of Tranquility - Emily St. John Mandel
You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty: A Novel - I don't usually love romance novels, but I will sure as heck read one by Akwaeke Emezi

Me too, Legendborn was a surprise favourite for me!

The Appeal (in the States)
Marion Lane and the Deadly Rose - second Marion Lane book

So this is certainly one I'm looking forward to discovering.

I only read a handful of nonfiction each year, but I took a look at that list and HELLO THERE IS A GRAPHIC NOVEL ABOUT THE HISTORY OF PINBALL
Pinball: A Graphic History of the Silver Ball
That's not something I ever knew I wanted to read, but now I really want to read it! (And it's published by First Second, which is practically a guarantee of awesomeness.)

It's all how you define "published" - if a paperback version coming out in 2022 means to you that book was published in 2022, then go for it.

That's great you were able to find something! I really liked that list and might add others too.

I love WWII history and this particular aspect, WWII and how it affected Hispanics, is something that's rarely touched upon.

I have an outgrowing list and I will use one of these."
Thanks for sharing the list.

You're welcome! :)

There's so many books out there regarding segregation between whites and African Americans but the ones I always have a hard time coming across are segregated events regarding Hispanics.

It's not out this year but I JUST borrowed this picture book from the library!
Separate Is Never Equal: Sylvia Mendez and Her Family's Fight for Desegregation

Sounds like a really good book.

I am excited to read Lucy Foley’s new book The Paris Apartment when it comes out. I’m also excited about Book Lovers by Emily Henry! I look forward to getting some other ideas from this thread.

I won this book as an ARC for the goodreads giveaways...it released 3/1/2022

I'll be honest, I almost never know what's coming out until it's come out and then I'm just like 'huh, did that come out?' but my brain is a mess and time is an illusion. But Daughter of the Moon Goddess is one that I'm very excited for and I think it might be coming in a special way to me so I look forward to it. The Ivory Key as well, and it might be here very soon. Other than that, I'll keep an eye open and see what catches my interest.

Sea of Tranquility
The Nineties
The Earth Is All That Lasts: Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull, and the Last Stand of the Great Sioux Nation
The Emergency: A Year of Healing and Heartbreak in a Chicago ER
Fangirl, Vol. 2: The Manga

What new book are you most excited about? Martha Wells MIGHT have a new book coming this year (Witch King) but with publishing dates getting pushed back so often, I'm afraid it will go into 2023.
The sequel to Rebecca Roanhorse's fantasy novel looks like a sure thing though!! I'm excited for Fevered Star!
