this is probably my favorite book so far that I've read. I think this book would be great for children that are going to have a new sibling soon or who are allergic to animals. I liked this book because it was really relatable and I have felt the same emotions Maggie felt when my mom told me she was expecting 17 years ago. I wish I had an easy book to read like this one during that time. Maggie feels completely left out in her home, her mom is pregnant and she already has 2 twin brothers who are always together. so she feels like she doesn't have anyone to spend time with. When she brings it up to her parents that she wants a pet, her parents agree but soon they find out that Maggie is extremely allergic to animals with fur and feathers. She tries to go down the list of pets she could have but nothing comes close to having a dog. For her, time is ticking and she really wants to find something that she can spend time with before the baby gets there. Fortunately, she does at the end of the book. All the emotions she expressed throughout the book are realistic and I appreciate that. This is a book ill be getting for my future classroom and as a future mom.
