Yep I'm booked in for RARE Edinburgh all being well, but only for the Saturday not the whole event.

@Cadiva I managed to buy from another an all weekend admission (although not the early one) and I couldn't resist buying the tickets that were sold recently for Thursdays Meet & Greet!!

RARE22 will be my 2nd ever Con, first was last year with shiMMer. I think after RARE (that just the plane tickets and accommodation cost me like 700euros) it'll be awhile before I go to another Con and it'll have to have once in a lifetime seeing up close authors to do so.

You are going to have an amazing time. I usually go to 2 cons a year or more, but I haven't been to one since Covid :/

Thank you Heather ^^ I'm hoping everything will go all right and that I won't have more books than my allotted checked baggage limit xD.... I was so lucky not to have gotten covid when I went to shiMMer since it was on Feb 2020 and it had started spreading seriously in Europe.

Excellent! I only bought Saturday tickets because I'm disabled and two days when it's not in a venue where I'm also staying is a bit much unfortunately.

I believe the MM crowd are planning a get together on the Sunday morning before everyone heads off back home.

If you're on Facebook, we have a RARE Edinburgh MM Group which is the best place for the latest goings on.

Unfortunately no, there was one in Connecticut over the summer but other than that I haven’t heard of any

I'd show up with so much merch for my faves to sign and another carrier for all the stuff I'd be leaving with. I'd be the most suspicious person there because of how much crap I'd be hauling with me. Will KJ Charles be there? What about Dal MacLean?

The event is sold out and the only tickets that are available are those that might be resold from other people than can no longer attend. Unfortunately because of Covid and me living in Cyprus, merch is not something I can do because shipping times are impossible and too expensive. But I will have an empty suitcase with me to feel with all kinds of goodies and books =D

As for the 2 authors you are asking, no unfortunately

@Fran I got that with my new PW and even though in terms and conditions doesn't say you have to be a new member I couldn't redeem it and it sucks. Customer service was not helpful

I just saw that MLR Press is closing and giving back rights to authors, which usually means some books become unavailable permanently, some just temporarily, depending on the authors :(

They publish two series that I always see on wish lists here, so you may want to stock up while you can: James Buchanan's Deputy Joe series and Kendall McKenna's Tameness of the Wolf Series

But ARe is not really a publishing house. It's more like alternative retailers like Amazon and Smashwords. I miss ARe too because it was EASIER for international readers to do e-book gifting

I thought that was the case but it tripped me up when Sheri mentioned it along with the publishing houses. I didn't use it much cos I'm okay with Amazon.com so I wasn't sure that they didn't do publishing as well. Either way they never payed the authors their royalties from the sales.

It is sad :( I'm hoping they'll go on sale for 50% off like they normally do on Smashwords' Thanksgiving sale, so I can buy a bunch without feeling guilty about it! I don't even have any of them on my TBR, but those are two authors I've always intended to read more from, and it doesn't look like they've been active online for several years...
