I'd like to claim the R with The Ronin's Mistress if that's okay. Could someone put me down for that?..."
Hi Lauri, I sure can put your book in the spreadsheet.

Could someone hook me up with that, please? Thank you!

I know how to use them -- I do at work all the time! My iPad is just not up to it& I can't do it at work. Much too busy & such behavior would be greatly frowned upon... 😝
I go back tomorrow after a 2-week hiatus. That is, I had a cold & the hospital rules are you must have 2 negative COVID test results, be completely symptom free and then wait an additional 72 hours. Then you need to call 24 hrs in advance to schedule a rapid test in the parking lot. Should you pass your 3rd test, they will then let you report to your department to work! Caution is great, but I think this is a bit much...

that's what we did for UNO too so I applied it for my own tracking sheet :)

Players can enter books as usual, but will now put an "x" in the letter columns (H-O) for all options that apply for that book.
Put all the reasons for how the book fits in col G.
Check the box in Col A if the book has wheel(s) on the cover.
This setup will let captains decide which letter a book carries that we want to use. You'll see the cell with the x go blue if that letter is being used for that book, or grey if we're not using the letter (but books/letters may be swapped around as the round progresses.)
In the rows above the letters, you can see how many of a letter we have available in yellow row 5, how many we've used in blue row 4, and how many left of each letter we need in row 3 with red letters. Right now this is based on us forming 10 words, but we can always adjust this as we get closer to the end of a round. (The needed number of letters is based on letters used, not letters available.)
Over on the right, you'll see our matrix fill up with blue as letters get used.
Much of the sheet is automated, so you just need to fill in book info in columns B - O. If you can't get to the spreadsheet, feel free to post to the team thread with all the book info and options, and we'll get the books added to the sheet.
Let us know if there are any questions - and keep ferreting out those U's and I's! lol

Countdown to the start!! Which book are you planning to pick up first?

i was going to see if Dead Space by Kali Wallace would fit any letters this round but i figured i should save it in case we get a W next time lol. still want to try to read it sometime in october since it's horror though.

I'll be starting both The Poppy War and Stolen Heir, one of them tomorrow evening as soon as the challenge starts.

Thanks Snezana - yes, it looks like some links stuck and others got lost - would be great if everyone would add back any lost links when updating your letter options. Thanks!

Also got If the Shoe Fits from the library so I might read that... unfortunately the two things I have to read for uni next don't hit the page count :(

Thanks :) and don't worry, you might find some more when you're actually reading the books that you can add later!

Happy Reading Everyone!

As a reminder, don't forget to add the additional letters your book hits when you add your read date (put an x in that letter's column.)
Also, if you double-click on the date cell, a helpful little calendar will pop up. :)

How's everyone doing?

I'm about halfway through my second book. I forgot how all the little details bog you down when moving. My belongings arrive Saturday so hopefully that will be the last big hurrah. I usually have 2 books going at the same time, one fiction and one non, but all habits have been out the window lately! Hopefully my groove will return soon, along with my sanity!

I'm currently finishing my 3rd book and just started my 4th one. Hope everyone's doing great!

Usually there are no bonus points, but I think there's sort of an award for the team that reads the most tricky letters?
Off the top of my head, they're X, Y, Z, Q, I, O, U

I think I'm on target for my projected reading. I've started looking specifically for U's and Q's as well.

I have added two more books to the spreadsheet, one U and one Q, the second one also has wheels on the cover. That's 7 books from me for now. If need be I could probably read another I.
I think we will win the tricky letters award with this round alone! lol

Glossed and Found
Author: India Ink
Finished 10/15/21
Page count: 272
Fits the following liquorice letters:
L - character Lisa Trmont
I - author
R - character Shanna Reynolds
C - character Candy Harrison
E - character Elliot Parker

Could one of our intrepid captions or kind teammates add this onto our spreadsheet for me, please? Thank you so much!

Done! :)

We're doing great, and have a few I's coming with with the House of Hollow readers. We could use more U's and a few more Q's.
Here's where we are on word creation:

We have 2 wheels read, one more on the way, so we need 2 more wheels on the covers for this round!

It seems to me I'm always reading flat out like a crazy woman for Wheel, but this year I'm scared of the over-reading penalties...
