1/6

message 52: by TerryJane, Challenges (last edited Nov 06, 2021 08:03AM) (new)

TerryJane | 4076 comments Happy weekend, everyone! Here in my part of the USA, we get an extra hour of reading time when we set our clocks back this weekend. ⏰ Woohoo! 💜📚

I have added all new joiners, updated progress reports, and made note of Sunny's new goal. If you find anything I missed, please let me know.

We currently have 31 participants planning to read 138 books. So far, 13% (18 books) have been reported as read by 9 of our participants who have begun to flutter around. ❗❗

Martha, are you wondering about Spirit Run: A 6,000-Mile Marathon Through North America's Stolen Land? If so, I gave it 3 stars. It was good, though not quite what I expected. I don't know if these ultramarathons ever pass through my area, so I'm not likely to have learned about the Peace & Dignity Journeys without reading Mr. Alvarez's memoir. Definitely worth reading. 🙂

Funny... I, too, have winged books planned by Barbara Kingsolver and an Agatha Christie, but mine are Prodigal Summer and Cat Among the Pigeons. You're updated!

TerryJane | 4076 comments Patricia wrote: "Hi! updated message 51

Hi, Patricia. I'm not sure if you're adding titles to your planned list, or if you've already read the three books you listed in post #60. I looked back at your original post #51 to see if you had marked your progress there, but it still has only the original two titles.

Do you know how to edit your original post? At the bottom right of post #51, you should see reply | edit. Click "edit" there, make any changes, then click the Edit Post button to save it.

You may want to add a line that shows Progress: 0/4 (or 3/4?), for example. You can also add new winged books to your list. As you read and update your original post, be sure to include the progress you've made when you make a new update post.

From post #2:
To have your challenge updated on the participants list, please post an update comment that includes both your original message number and progress.
Example: Updated msg #10: 2/8

Thanks for reading, and please let me know if I can help or answer any questions. 🙂

Martha☀ | 240 comments I don't know if people give their feedback about their reads here (I'm new to the group) but here goes. (let me know if I shouldn't post this here):
I finished The World Played Chess The World Played Chess by Robert Dugoni and rated it 3 stars. It was a creative way to compare three 18 year olds experiences over different decades - Vietnam, late 70s and 2018. Smartly told, but it had some negative aspects.
